I called Tech Support again and the person came out and replaced the gateway with a new black box a few days ago. Since then I haven't lost any service (that I know of). The tech was convinced that the problem is an outside line failing at random times of day. He said I had a 2 pair line (dunno what that means) and 1 of the lines is pretty much always down. Had a couple of AT&T techs come out and look at everything. They spent the day outside climbing poles to find where the faulty wiring is. The problem does not seem to have been solved though. I lose TV/Phone/Internet at random times every day now, so it's actually worse than before. I called in another ticket so hopefully the next tech to come out will be able to help.

I have Uverse TV, Phone, and Internet so I'm not sure which gateway I have. Since it has TV, hopefully it's the one with no charge

Yesterday night for about 2 hours my 2wire gateway was "cycling" through the green lights on the front. What I mean is that the power light would be solid green for about 3 seconds then start blinking green, or the other lights would be solid green for a few seconds and then turn off entirely.
