I don't deduct anything for specific uses when I purchase gophone minutes. I just pay another $100.00 to my account, and then when I call, text, or go online to email, it just deducts what I used from the $100.00.

Thanks for informing American cell phone users what is provided in Norway. I just returned from Europe, and in three countries I traveled through, all receive much better service for better prices than do we. They are not allowed to gouge Europeans like they are allowed to gouge us.

I can access the Internet on my cheap $20.00 GoPhone with only the .10 cents a minute plan. What is deducted when I go online to read my email, for instance, and even send an email, is really inexpensive. It is cheaper to go to Gmail and send an email through my phone than it is to send a text for .20 cents. Since I don't use my phone all that much, it is a much better de...

I checked muy account and it looks like it didn't change roaming, just like you said. Thanks again!

Thank you, Doug. I just switched from my old .25 cents-a-minute simple plan to the .10 cents-a-minutes simple plan. I hope I didn't accidentally change the roaming inclusion!

Oh, and I just added $100.00 to my prepaid gophone account. Will I lose it or any of it if I switch? Again, thank you.

Thank you for the replies! One more question though: If I switch, will it change the simple, straightforward .20 cents a text I pay now? Will I have to sign up for something else to get text messaging, or will it remain the same as now? Thanks!

I'm surprised they do not let prepaid customers communicate with customer service by email and do more with our accounts online, because it seems it would save the company money to have us handle as much online as possible instead of tying up their live customer service people on the phone.

I'm confused. I refuse to sign a contract for the following reasons: 1) Cell phone companies demand a social security number when they don't really need it nor do they really have a legal right to it, but they force customers to provide the number if we want the phone and contract. 2) The one time I did have a contract, with Verizon, when my contract ended it took a lette...

I used to have Cellular One prepaid at .15 cents a minute. When AT&T bought Cellular One, they upped my rate to .25 cents a minute and it's been like that for about three years. I could not go with a competitor because there are no other carriers where I live. It is a straightforward plan: .25 cents a minute for calls (even when someone calls me and hangs up without leavi...

Not everyone can choose a different carrier. Where I live, AT&T is the only carrier and any local companies piggy back on AT&T, which means they cost more because the customer is paying for both. It is more economical just to go with the company that owns everything because the locals can't offer anything AT&T isn't offering. With no competition, there are no other choice...
