Let me guess...usually around 5pm right? When most everyone is out of school and work. ATT equipment can't handle the congestion when so many people are online. And yet they continue to sign up more and more customers knowing this.

You are actually lucky not to have this crappy ATT DSL service. Count your blessings. Please do some research and read other posts on this forum from customers. ATT is an unethical uncaring corporatation that gives no regard to customer service.

Trust me...you're better off without it. Do yourself a favor and read other posts on this forum. You will find that there are tons of frustrated unhappy DSL customers. AT&T service sucks! Plain and simple. I had it for about 6 months and it was a total nightmare. Just read the other posts on this forum and you will see that this is not just my opinion but actual fact.

AT&T equipment can't handle the amount of people they are signing up. There is too much congestion on their servers. And yet they continue to sign up new customers knowing this in order to make that all mighty dollar. They don't care about their customers. They have you locked in with a contract and as long as they get your monthy payment that's all that matters to them. ...

Trust me. It's just not worth it. I went thru the same crap you did. I had slow DSL for 2 months. During those 2 months there was about 10 calls to customer service, 3 techs come out and check the line, countless hours on the phone and on hold, and every time they make you go thru the same useless troubleshooting procedures over and over again and nothing was ever fixed. ...

What they don't tell you is that the new server you are on will eventually get more and more traffic and you will have the same issue again. That's what happened to me. My advice is to keep checking your speed periodically.

There are posts that are over a year old already regarding slow DSL, congestion, and the need for equipment upgrades on AT&T's end. They know about this forum already. How can they not? F150owner, There is nothing wrong with your equipment. All you need to do is read other posts in this forum. You are not alone in this problem. There is complete deniability from AT&T regarding this issue. You will NOT get an honest helpful answer from a AT&T rep here. Only from users like me.
