It is now the first day after a long holiday weekend and surprise surprise my ipv6 to the internet is back in service. Whatever maintenance that was being done on the AT&T side has been completed and ipv6 restored.

mibrnsurg, Appreciate the reply but I have had ipv6 up and running for several months with no issues. Disabling ipv6 everywhere on my local network is not an appropriate recommendation because you have no knowledge of my network requirements. Should AT&T have an issue with ipv6 then they need to disable on my router's AT&T managed gateway router.

Ham3843, Fiber to your premise would be expensive to install, the fiber itself and more importantly the connections and equipment. As far as issues, you would still have multiple points of degradation or failure. My local AT&T expert stated that they won't be retrofitting any existing premises but would consider installing for new premise construction, assuming the premis...

Realize that the physical plant required to support DSL across twisted pair telco is expensive for any company to maintain. A solution is on the horizon and that is neighborhood hotspots. What better way to minimize or eliminate the cost for physical wiring maintenance.

There are many possibilities here but I don't know who owns what. If you own the modem and router it is possible the modem is no longer supported or needs a firmware upgrade. My suggestion is to place a service call with AT&T to have someone dispatched to check the DSL levels and error rates at the point of demarkation on your property. The wiring from the point of demark...

IPV6 had been working but now it does not. After researching I found that the problem is associated with "IPv6 Delegated Prefix Subnet" not being assigned to my ARRIS NVG599 router. I power cycled the router and after DSL became active the router was assigned a value for "IPv6 Delegated Prefix Subnet" but after a few minutes the value became blank. The router software ver...

Sounds like your son's iPhone may have an app or setting that is causing Xfinity to drop connection. Some Wifi solutions will drop connection if device exceeded Class of Service limit. Since your iPhone doesn't have the issue you may consider setting both phones side by side and compare settings. If cell data usage is a concern just turn it off for all apps except those y...

If you have issues associated with wet weather, then you have an issue with the connection between your AT&T router and the next device in your AT&T U-Verse network. Call AT&T U-Verse service and arrange for someone to come out when rain is scheduled. For me, it took several service calls many years ago for me to have a clean circuit. First, they found a ground loop out o...

What you are experiencing is in all likelyhood a technical issue that is caused by design defects in the IGMP Multicast solution that U-Verse employes to deliver television to you. Of course there could be an issue with the physical connection from your router to the next device in the AT&T U-Verse network that could aggrevate the issue as well. Additionally, the DVR bein...

I was able to print a list of scheduled programming from the U-Verse website's view DVR function. I am planning to use the IMDB website to determine what programming will never return so that I can delete as well as which CBS/NBC programs are in a seasonal hiatus so that I can make note to add them at a later date. Finally, using my printout, I will go through and delete ...

Currently WRAL is an affiliate of CBS and WNCN of NBC but on Monday, February 29 they will swap the national network they are affiliated with. I have many national network programs scheduled to record for both. Will U-Verse change the assigned stations in my DVR schedule automatically or will I have to do manually? If I have to do manually, is there a way to get a copy of...

I have done exactly that, including backup, though I am doing it with a AT&T provided WiFi router with integrated vDSL modem. Basically you plug the AirPort Extreme in the Ethernet jack of the modem. Realize that what happens is the AT&T network will provide an IP address/network to the AirPort Extreme. That is your upstream network. You will have to configure the AirPort...

Okay, it has been an AT&T day. First the line tech came. He found an intermittent ground short about 1/8 mile down the road in the POTS portion of my circuit path. Since I don't have POTS he removed that from the circuit. Then he replaced the F circuit card with a K circuit card. In the pedestal behind our building he made some changes to basically reduce the number of ph...

beebeesa you are correct. My my review of the JVC HD 707 it does NOT provide the necessary connections to accept Dolby 5.1 or DTS signals. However, it will accept audio from another device that has broken out the Dolby 5.1 or DTS signal into the appropriate channels, one RCA jack per channel. Dolby 5.1 or DTS signals are only transported from device to device by HDMI, dig...
