@Abbie1 - Did rebooting as @JefferMC recommended work? If not, what you describe sounds like chnnel preview, which also, should time out. These may be produced by he arrows around the OK button. MAybe a button is stuck or brocken. Take the remote out of the room & see if the problem or push the various arrows to see what you get.

@Grammi6 - By #8 zoom feature on the remote, do you mean the U-verse zoom? Bcause that is what the problem should be when the content screen is too big & the menu/guidescreen is not. Press enter/zoom ( bottom right) button. Select zoom from menu. Select normal Press OK

@JLRANGEL22 WPS ia a two step proces - First it must enabled in the RG Then it must be activted. Sounds like both of these are hapening. When it does not pair with another device igoes back to sleep. THe security is provided because it is only activate for a few minutes. Use your browser to go here & disable the WPS til you want to use it. http://192.168.1.254/xslt?PAGE=...

@JWB839 - The Volume is ALWAYS the TV. THe chan change & menus are in the u-verse STB. Therefore, the remote needs to be in att mode - press the att button. Or, maybe there is a vase in front of the STB.

@Hughmack - Instructions/codes found here - https://www.att.com/support/tv-remotes.html Also, found on TV under help. You can step through all possible codes. Note that after selcting a code, based on on/off, you need to chnge the audio from always TV. You also need to add the soundbar to the power list. Consider a Logitech Harmony model 625 to support full setup with au...

@scotty2540 - Yes, I did miss your point. I agreed with you that the design is/was cludgy. I can, also, agree that the documentation is minimal & difficult to locate. My opinion of the remote is even less than yours.

@Landyj There is a lot of confusion in your post. There are three boxes - RG, DVR & STB. The RG takes the signal into the house & distributes it. The DVR MUST be connet to the RG Cat5 (prefered) or COAX. But, not necessarily connected to a TV. STBs - two can be wireless have full DVR functionality (aka whole house DVR) For HD viewing HDMI or component connection between ...

@StumpGrinder - My first impression is that you called the wrong office. The primary objective of that tech is to get you off the line as fast as possible. The group you want is call before you dig (811?) - https://www.google.com/#q=calll+before+you+dig They will come out & mark it for you. If you break the cable & it has to be repaired you could get a bill.

@jlynnlou - I do not know for sure what to do, but, press the button on the router box is vague & unlikely. Do you know that the wireless from the TV comes from the WAP connected to the RG & should belocated at least two meters from the RG. That is still plugged into the RG & powered?? Try a whole house reboot - Powere down RG, DVR,STBS & WAP reconnect RG wait for all gr...

@bjaltom21 - RE: My one question is what do I need to ask for so that the router can be in a more open area of the house? The wiring panel is going to be in a closet upstairs. More cable, two cases - If the feed goes to the new location, you want 2 to 4 cables from the RG to the panel - same as if they were in the same room, just longer cables. If the feed goes to the pa...

@Wheelz1949 - We can only guess - but, most likely - it was not included in the latest agreements with content providers. If it is really important to you, tou can get a slingbox & do it.

@Mitoian - Yes, it IS possible to watch your recorded programs om your smart phone. It is NOT possiblle to do it via the U-verse app. It can be accomplished by getting a slingbox & set it up to control your DVR and put the content on the web as if you were watching in your home. Watching via a browser is included. The slingbox app is an extra cost adder.

@ChrisGrif - What do you mean by "recorded on your phone"? I believe the is no recording of u-verse TV on your phone, so you must mean a video that you recorded throught the lense on the phone. You can connect the phone to the TV via HDMI & the phone screen will also be on the TV. There are software products to cast from the phone to apple TV that is connected to the TV ...

@Abbyrose - I guess when it works, it works, when it doesnt it doesnt. You have two good pieces of info & you are missing two pieces of info. The e-mail address is your account ID. The four digit PIN is required for you to make any changes to your acct. You are missing your account number & ideally the check digit (tenth digit) need to pay your bill electronically or via...

@Kondsp - No they do not make a such a remote. Do you need recording & menu nav? If you just need channel surfing, this one is popular. You can program it for just favorite channels. If you need more functionality, google or amazon search for big button tv remote control http://www.flipperremote.com/ Maybe one of each

@cac323cac - Try different HDMI jack on TV. Try different HDMI cable. Try swapping with another STB. Change to component cables.

@wmtheel - Here is my theory - The forward direction is from the DVR through the RG to the WR - playing content. The back direction - from the WR to the RG to the DVR is background communication that would be used to control the process. The back direction is more fragile/weaker than the forward direction. Therefore, problems show up first in that direction. Make sure th...

@captdude Sorry, No, U-verse does NOT have that feature. The only way to do it is to get a Logitech Harmony 650 & program it into the startup sequence. Of course, you have to aim the remote while it sends the four digits & hope that u-verse processes all four digits. I have a Logitech Harmony hub system which elliminates the need to aim the remote. Also, it has short pre...

@maefinds U-verse TV keeps no history of channels viewed. Internet history is kept by browser - Internet Exploerer, Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Bing when it not turned off. Look for "History" in the taskbar.
