The AT&T U-Verse RG will find the Roku XDS wirelessly using Wifi. It works flawlessly....it took my box about 2 minutes to find the network when I setup my XDS back in October. They recommend that your internet speed is at least 1.5 Mbps for it to work correctly.

"The Samsung is connected to the Uverse DVR" ~~~~~~~~~ This may be the problem. I think you want to connect it to the RG. My Roku is connected to the RG via WiFi and you tube plays no problems.

~~~~~~ from time to time our picture will freeze and resume three or five seconds later. Again, it's nothing major, but has been this way since installation and only occurs maybe once in an hour or so. It's tolerable, but if something could be done to fix it, we would welcome it. ~~~~~~ We used to get this all the time....way too much freezing. Check the connections from ...
a great idea to be sure! I think the reason they don't do this now is because its a VERY small niche of customers who can actually GET U-Verse, but CANNOT get a great signal from the AT&T network. You know? possibly a future enhancement?
What i meant was the ones that come installed with a Dish. I think they are composite since they are white, red, and a HUGE yellow one. I will try the component or HDMI Thanks!
oh yeah! Its connected using composite Dish-style cable and i get the blue light on HD with a fantastic picture...the guide is just weirdly large and stretched off the left side of the screen. The blue light and HD would not work with coaxial when I had this connected first..... should i try HDMI? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ How is the U-verse box connected to the TV? 1) H...
You got me thinking too.... If FIOS is FTTP and they wire you up as part of the install....THEN you cancel and switch to U-verse can you still keep FTTP installation at Verizon's expense?
I've never had HD on MY TV (46" Samsung LCD 640) prior to having U-Verse HD and I think it looks great. I will agree with some that cable HD picture can look a little bit crisper, but in my opinion U-Verse HD looks about 80% as good. I think the HD quality is not identical to cable since U-verse compresses the HD quality so you can get more bandwidth for other application...
