hoosierky wrote: Thanks Chris. I am thinking of dropping Direct TV because of the rain/snow issues. We had U-verse 5 years ago (we were guinea pigs) and dropped it two years later due to syncing issues with HD (audio/video). Your answer was the last hold up on the issue. I've been UV for 2 years after 10 years with Dish. Why does it always storm during the best part of th...

There is a definite problem with readability of the menus, because of using only different shades of the color blue, and the other issue is the "commercial skip" , the Dish method was far superior. dhascall wrote: I do not use t...

Good luck with the cell phone because if it's a big storm, everyone will overload the grid a...

TimTTT, Glad to hear your problems seem to be resolved. A patient and persistent service tech makes all the difference. It can also take a little patience and persistence as a customer, too.

I, for one, would love to see what type of HD/ PQ results from a 11-12 rate! Since it's been noted that this rate isn't possible for all HD channels without loosing streams (ain't gonna' happen); What does this "test" mean? If anything?

From the Multi Channel article: "It is not yet clear if the ISB7005 is intended to be the primary client [set-top box] for U-verse or whether it is meant instead to be used only to save installers from the most time consuming of wire runs," Froehlich noted. Would AT&T really design and implement a new STB just to save install time? Probably not. This sounds awesome. Plug ...

Service tech replaced my splitter and should be good to go. After explaining the play back issue he seemed to know exactly what the issue was. I had a two way splitter before. He replaced it with a three way. (?) The unused split is capped as we don't want any UV signals spilling out in my basement. I 'm guessing if I ever need a third STB, I could connect to the existing...

I broke down and called tech support tonight. I have a coax install and checked all connections prior to calling. They ran several tests, of course, but found no problems. The plan was to reboot the RG and boost the signal from the DVR/STB to my STB. I didn't know that could be done. The tech said it was a matter of allocation. My RG was remotely rebooted and I restarted ...

My STB is showing the exact same problems. Main DVR plays fine. I ran UVRT and all stats looked OK. Checked all connections and such. I thought I had it fixed but the problems returned. Tried all the rebooting and restarting known to man. I hate to roll a truck if this is a temporary bug.

Neighbors rescue man buried in snow for hours By MARCIA NELESEN Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011 JANESVILLE, WI. — Todd Herrington didn't expect to hear an answer as he cleared 2 feet of snow off the face that was buried below. (read article here-> Link ) You cannot make this stuff up. This is one lucky guy. How would you like to have been the plow driver that buried him? Sounds li...
