So the STB would be the Roku box? Wouldn't it be more than $44/month if I have internet access too? Message Edited by thusband on 01-31-2009 06:55 PM

Thanks everyone. Lots of good advice. I've just started looking into all the options. I wasn't aware of uverseusers.com either. There's gotta be a way. Thanka again, Tom Message Edited by thusband on 01-31-2009 05:25 PM

Hmmm, canceling after 30 days sounds like a possibility. Thanks for the suggestion. Would they let you cancel just part of the bundled package? I think I'll ask them about that. Thanks again, Tom

Thanks Randy. I've sent a message to ATT so we'll I guess. I think with the Netflix Roku box and a DVD player I can save around $100 a month and still be satisfied. We'll need the download speed of U-verse to get the HD movies. We have Directv now and get a couple hundred channels but only really watch a few. They're increasing the price in March so enough is enough. Than...

I want internet access only, no TV bundles. Is U-Verse available as internet only? I couldn't seem to find the answer on any ATT set up pages. Thanks in advance, Tom Husband

Yes, a reset did it. It was actually just about all the HD channels that were out. Lately I've to reset about once a week. I never had this problem when I had SD. I miss my old TIVO DVR. Thanks, Tom

That's interesting, thanks for the information. I think, however, that we're talking about two different things. My problem occurs when the scene is stationary and the background is more or less a solid color. You are talking about the camera scanning a scene. Also isn't the article (from 2004) comparing projection LCD with projection DLP and not flat screen technology? I...

I get this too on certain HD channels (mainly network TV. ABC, CBS, etc.) Are you saying it's a naturally occurring thing on LCD TVs and there's nothing that can be done? Why isn't it across the board on all channels then? I thought it might be compression artifacts. That would account for the differences in the channels. Never the less it may not be a malfunction but it'...

I don't think so. It didn't reset mine. It didn't change anything. All my settings and programs already recorded remained. Now, though, I can watch those recorded shows.

I hope this works for you. I just checked again this morning and it's still holding. Menu->Help & Settings->Setup->Reset->Restart Recorder Then just wait several minutes while it shuts down, make contact with the satellite and reboots.
