It is getting to the point where we have to decide what we can live with. Better or more modern services, or better customer service. Right now, the best service for the lowest price is what I am going for. The services don't have to be the most modern, they just have to work.

It maybe that the DVR got an update that wiped your list or, the DVR is in the early stages of failure. Been there done that. Call TS and ask them to run a test on your services. If you don't get anywhere with them contact the Community support here in the forum, they will help you.

I tried using the app to set some recordings but I couldn't get it to work. I have kept the app up to date, but maybe uninstalling and reinstalling is the answer.

I was having the same problems. A tech was sent out who replaced my RG with a newer RG that no longer had the. BBU in it. Since then my services have been stable. If you call TS and can't get anywhere with them, send a PM to one of the Community Managers with your info and problem. They will help you get this resolved.

I think ATT came up with this because people are dumping cable tv services then keeping Internet service and going with Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime for tv and movie services. This was done in an attempt to lower there cable bills imho. Can you blame them? $200+ a month can be a strain on many of our pocket books. I currently have some promos that have kept my bill low...

You may be able to buy a compatable battery from a third party store like Radio Shack or Best Uy. I got a new Gateway a few days ago and was informed by the tech that ATT no longer provides BBUs for Uverse subs. I don't know if that is the case for Directv and/or internet only customers.

The only way I have heard being able to watch recordings on a computer is to get Slingbox. I wish we could just watch them without jumping through the hoops.

First do a hard reset of your RG or Residential Gateway. I usually disconnect the ac and take the battery out for 30 seconds then replace it. After it reboots do the same thing with your DVR STB, and all other STBs that you have. After they have rebooted try to access your recordings. If you still can't see them send a PM to one of the Customer Care reps here in the forum...

I suggest unplugging the power cable on your RG for 30 seconds and then reconnect it. After it reboots do the same thing with all of your STBs. If the problem still persists call TS at the number in my sig and ask the CSR to run a test on your service for errors.

If you have the Uvoice VoIP service the short tones followed by the long tone sounds like the stutter tone you get when you have a voice mail message waiting. The next time you here that tone enter *98 on the phone dial pad and then setup your voice mail by following the prompts. That is the stutter tone I get when there is a voice mail message waiting.

If you now have Uverse TV, and Internet service you will be getting a new RG (Residential Gateway). The RG decodes the internet packets and then sent to the STBs.

You can actually view up to 10 days in advance when you go into the guide and press the fast forward button. Each press of the FF button will advance the guide 24 hours.

The STBs do not boot up unless you do a soft or hard boot of the device. When an STB comes out of standby mode it will show the last channel that was being watched. The same goes for a recorded program also.

Uninstall it and go to microsoft.com and download Microsoft Security Essentials. It is much better than McAfee IMO and it runs quietly in the background without putting a drain on computer resources. MSE is antivirus and malware protection software that is very effective and FREE.
