I would think there shouldn't be a problem since U-verse is also implementing VOIP.

I was able to setup Outlook 2003 to use smtp.att.yahoo.com and send an outbound SMTP message using my hotmail account. Just needed to use my sbcglobal.net email and passwork. Inbound mail I have no clue.
