More horrible performance in the form of: - Voice quality. I'll be speaking with someone and they'll say "hello, hello, are you there?" As if I'm losing my coverage. - Phone not attaching. My phone has issues with attaching to the microcell. I really hope that none of AT&T's customers actually PAY for this service!!

Movogt, it's not a perfect technology, but it does help. Especially if you have a weak/no signal at your place. My understanding is that the Microcell is now free, and I think you can return in 30 days. Really, reliability doesn't depend on where you live. It depends on your ISP and AT&T's backend Microcell systems. Do you have Suddenlink? The 10MB residential package? If...

Last night, I had two very critically important calls for my business that I was on (connected through the mCell), and I DROPPED THE CALL TWICE. Embarrassing and frustrating. The very problem that the Microcell is supposed to fix, it just makes worse. So I have to step into my back yard, and hold the phone in the air above my head in order to keep the call going. What's s...

MicroCell has been totally out this afternoon. I think I'm going to chuck it into the woods.

I almost forgot, the data service to my iPhone while on the MicroCell is horrendous. Many times, I'll have to hard reboot the phone in order to even receive data via MicroCell. OR, the data is so slow.....slower than 1 bar on the Edge network. So frustrating.

Thanks for the help nsayer and MyDogHasFleas! Sadly, I think this issue may lie with AT&T...... 1) Network setup. My MicroCell has first position on my home network, which is a pretty basic setup: Cable Modem ----> MicroCell -----> Apple AirPort Express 2) Bandwidth. I have an upgraded connection with our local Cable ISP. (Suddenlink. 10Mb down. 2Mb up.) I have run tons o...

I have had my MicroCell here in Greenville, NC for about 10 months, and it has done very little to ease my AT&T frustrations. I regularly experience issues such as: - Call Quality Problems: Others report that my voice cuts in and out. I usually have to call them back. - Outages: The MicroCell seems to intermittently become unavailable. Has anyone else in NC dealt with the...

madams, I feel your frustration. I too work in IT, and it irritates me to no end when I call in for MicroCell support, and AT&T wants to walk me through the reboot, and then the re-provisioning of my MicroCell. It's not even worth the 45 minutes of my time to call them when I know it is not the MicroCell, and it's not my ISP. It's clearly the back end infrastructure that ...

Having issues here as well in Greenville, NC. Calls not ringing though. Dropping calls. The very things that the MicroCell is supposed to fix, I'm having major issues with.

mbze, I completely agree with you about the documentation. I too was left scratching my head about network setup, nat, ports used, and if I could configure the microcell via a browser. Sadly, my data speed, voice quality, and incoming call issues are not network related, as I have the microcell plugged directly into my cable modem. My connection with my ISP consistently te...

nsayer, sadly I think you're right. I'm going to plan to return my microcell for a full refund, and look to move to Verizon ASAP.

I agree that Microcell is a disappointing product that doesn't work as advertised, from THE most disappointing cell carrier in the US. I have owned a Microcell since October 7, and have consistently had issues with data, call quality, and incoming calls. (and yes, I have logged many support calls, and also work in IT)
