I have to agree with wgarrido. Smartphones being charged each night isn't unheard of. The reason I ultimately got the Captivate was because Apple crippled my 3GS with iOS4, and it needed to be charged every 6-8 hours, unless I was awash in glorious 5-bar signal, then it would last a whole day. I can relate to the battery issues, but then, out of nowhere, 2 weeks in to my ...

It would seem that users are having to spend hours fixing the brand new iPhone 4 as well. And Apple had their own set of issues when their iPhone first arrived on the market a few years ago (and users paid over $500 each for the phone). Apple crippled my 3GS when iOS4 came out because the battery suddently needed to be charged multiple times a day, and they don't support ...

Thank you TLN_Nick. I checked that suggestion and found a new menu I hadn't seen before to allow wi-fi to never disengage (also has options for proxy, etc). I went into settings -> wireless and network -> wi-fi settings -> tapped the menu button and selected advanced which has an option for wi-fi sleep policy that had been defaulted to sleep "when screen turns off". Chang...

Looking around the web for tips on using the Captivate, I came across a post on adroid forums about the amount of data someone's Captivate had sucked up over night. Upon looking at my own account, I realized that in 2 days I had used as much data as I used to use on my 3GS over a whole month. I recalled that I'd notice the 3G notification showing signs of use when I first...

The bars at my house shifted around a bit with my 3GS, but once i switched it to iOS4 I'd see 1-3 bars. When the patch to properly calculate the bars was applied, I'd see 3 bars a couple times a day, mostly 1 bar. On my captivate, I'm seeing similar behavior, and I have to believe that it's the phone calculating the signal strength properly, but on the other hand, if ofte...

I've loaded music onto the phone's memory through the computer, no need for an sd card. It took me several hours after plugging in the phone to come across the drivers for the phone, and then to realize the USB port on the front of my desktop computer will not recognize the phone for whatever reason, but the ports on the back of my computer will. I'm definitely going to w...

First time Android owner here, coming from a 3GS, and what I have is an app in the app drawer called voice command. There's another called voice search. I believe one came on the phone (voice search, I believe), and the other from the market (voice command). Voice command is the one to use, and while in the app drawer, tap the voice command app, and it gives you two custo...
