Yeah, considering how you put it, you're correct. For $10 more, I can get service. I just won't be able to tether. If I drop down to the base $39.99 250MB service that would save me another $20. Really, all I need is DATA. I have a Verizon phone from work. No need for voice/text.

If Verizon starts allowing tethering, like they do now with both versions of the Palm Pre, on the Android phones, then this whole game is going to change REAL QUICK. I'm sure Verizon sold a few phones on news that they were allowing tethering via their WiFi Hot Spot. This is a GREAT start. The wireless telco's need to get a clue. They're easily becoming just dumb pipes to...

I would love nothing more than a 3G data plan for my iPhone. Why AT&T doesn't offer the option is crazy. And they don't even offer a WiFi type of device. Sprint and Verizon do. If nothing happens by summer, I might have to sign a contract with Sprint or Verizon for a MiFi device, so I can use my iPhone 3GS on the road. It's the BEST iPod Touch ever!

That was some great information regarding Clear. I just checked them out, unfortunately, I'm not in their coverage blanket. Too bad. http://www.clear.com/shop/services/mobile I bought an iPhone back in Sept, after learning the Touch would not come with a camera. Rolled with it for three months and dropped the service. I paid the TOS. No problem. But, am dying for just a D...

That might be a tough one because I'm sure she logs into a different profile on the computer. And that profile is probably synching to a seperate outlook PST. Unless you are both using the same PST from which you access in both profiles, I don't see this happening. You could create a third "shared" PST with it's own calendar...that is accessed by both profiles.

You have to enable this in iTunes. Go to the home screen for your iPhone in iTunes, the one that has the picture of the iPhone along with it's phone number. Well, along the top, you'll see a bunch of tabs up top. There is a tab for synchronizing with Outlook. Once you have selected the correct tab, scroll down that tab until you see a check box for synching notes. Check i...

"the only option you have is the AT&T $30 unlimited plan" I would love to get this plan, BUT, without cell or text service, I don't need either, as work provides me with that at no cost. I'm really not a phone guy. I don't use more than 100 minutes a month. Signing up for voice, just to get data, would be an incredibly wasteful endevor. Again, AT&T, if your listening, all...

My options are pretty limited then, if I want a data only plan. And that option is to get a MiFi Mobile Hot Spot from Verizon or Sprint. Seems like a steep option, especially given the iPad is getting unlimited data for ONLY $30 per month, that really is one helluva deal for mobile wireless data.

Verizon, just today, announced free tethering with the data plan on a Palm Pre. Tethering for up to five wireless devices. FREE. I can't help but to think that this is to (A) move some Palm Pre's and (B) allow those buying iPad's to tether to their Pre without the need to subscribe to the $30/"unlimited" 3G data plan. Now I'm seriously considering a Palm Pre from Verizon....

I AGREE!! I have a defunct iPhone 3GS 32GB, one that no longer has a cellular plan or data plan. It's the best iPod Touch EVER. And works amazing around a wifi spot. NOW, if I could only get a 3G DATA only plan, JUST LIKE the one being offered to iPad owners. I would jump on it in two seconds. I'm seriously considering a MiFi device, but would forgo if I could get a DATA ...
