Verizon uses the same insurance, Asurion. That is definitely bad luck it seems. My immediate family has had about 4 phone replacements through insurance and they've had no issues. Sometimes Asurion will allow you to get a different model (at least they have with me), maybe you can ask about that option.

It is not unlocked until ATT give you an unlock code. You then have to put that code into the phone. You do have to meet certain requirements to get that code though. https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/?#/ General Requirements for All Unlock Requests The device must be designed for use on, and locked to, the AT&T wireless network. (For help see Device Unlock Support ) It mu...

Try calling that number to see if really is inactive. If not under someone else's account, it is technically possible. I had done it a couple times for customers back in the day. Just had to find it in the long list of available numbers. ATT doesn't have to find it or do this for you, but worth a shot by following kdfederer's advice.

I would suggest you put your phone in airplane mode and then turn on the wifi to guarantee the phone is not using ATT's towers.

There is only one way to really find out where the issue is coming from. The cnam is responsibility of the receiving landline. So, let's say you're calling a time warner cable landline, and it shows the wrong caller id name, try calling other landline companies to compare. If all the landline companies show the exact same wrong name, then ATT wireless has sent the wrong i...

I did read his interpretation, which I disagree with. Back when I worked for ATT, I would have strong discussions with management about how the policies are worded because some people read it/understood it differently. One manager would read it and agree with me, another might read it and tell a customer something completely different. If we take that TOS at face value, t...

ATT's own TOS defines tethering as: 6.11.1 Tethering is a wireless or wired method in which your AT&T mobile device is used as a modem or router to provide a Internet Access connection to other devices , such as laptops, netbooks, tablets, smartphones, other phones, USB modems, network routers, mobile hotspots, media players, gaming consoles, and other data-capable device...

Edit: Sorry, didn't realize this was in the uverse section. No clue on their policies yet. Unless you're in Oklahoma, you must change the name on the account to someone elses. per http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB410609&cv=820#fbid=Kw59BYlrSCM We offer our sincerest condolences during this difficult time. As long as your cell phone is in the usa, that's a normal call for you. Uses normal minutes if you don't have unlimited talk. If you call them, that's when you get charged.

There is no official corporate email. You have to deal with customer service in some way, either through private messages on these forums, phone, mail, or corporate stores. You can always contact the BBB/FTC/FCC to file complaints depending on your issue. Don't post your email here for everyone to see.

ATT only prorates the bill/charges. The data is not prorated. Whenever you switch data plans, you start fresh with whatever data amount your new plan has, even if it's the last day of the cycle. Even if you go back to your old plan within the same cycle, you still start fresh. So if you're on the 10 gb plan and change to the 15 gb plan, you'll be at 0 out of 15 gb that da...

You were told incorrectly. I just tried it. It first asks if you want to pay with last payment method. After entering your payment information, it does ask if you want to pay full amount or to enter amount you want to pay. The automated system gives same options when dialing 611 or *pay. edit: Forgot to add that they can pay online as well. Have them sign up for their own...

I use google hangouts daily. I promise you he's not seeing them through the myatt app. The myatt app has no access. There's a couple ways he can view them. He can log in to your gmail account on a pc and view/message as you. If on phone, he can be logged in to your google account on his phone.

The stores will usually give you a customer service agreement copy with the info about the activation fees. If none of your paperwork shows a fee, you would have to go to wal-mart and have them handle it since it was their error.

AT&T chooses not to prorate the final bill. It's in their wireless agreement. You can request a supervisor, but they are under no obligation to waive it for you. 5.1 What Are The General Terms That Apply To All AT&T Voice Rate Plans? You may obtain usage information by calling customer service or using one of our automated systems. Pricing/Taxes/No Proration: Prices do no...

You can fax this form along with proof. It's what I use. http://www.unionplus.org/statics/0000/3718/ATT_FaxVerificationForm.pdf Just scratch off the current FAN number and write your own and under union just place the company name. The BAN is just your account number. I got a text the next day saying my school FAN was changed to my work FAN.

Unless policy has changed, you should be able to use the phone number associated with the tablet with the iphone instead. If same sim is used, you can insert sim in iphone and call customer care to let them know. If sim doesn't match, you'd need to get a new sim for the iphone. I used to convert tablet lines into regular phone lines and vice versa for customers with no pr...

Customer care would create a new account number and move your phone number to the new account and bill you in advance. You'd be able to keep your unlimited data in that situation. But, the fact that your spouse's number is on a different account, your spouse would lose the unlimited data anyways. A transfer of billing responsibility would move your spouse's number over, b...

The order is completed when you activate the phone. The new equipment will stay parked/reserved in ATT's system until you activate new the phone. Once you do that, the old data plan is removed.
