Hi Yerian, As long as the Straight Talk smartphone has been unlocked (although Straight Talk phones do operate on AT&T's GSM network), and it has a SIM card slot, you shouldn't have any problem transferring over your current SIM into the newer phone. Most Android phones have the SIM card slot located behind the battery cover, provided that the phone has a removable battery...

Yes... I sure didn't expect to have these issues, though!

Greetings, all! It's been quite a while since I've popped in here, and everything looks very different, so I hope I'm in the right place... Anyway, I have returned to receive feedback on an issue I have been having with my new iPhone, which has been very frustrating to say the least. I realize that this is more of an Apple vs. an AT&T issue, but I'd just like to see if an...

@GoldenEaring If I recall correctly, users in the past have ran into this same issue. I believe the fix was to enter all zeros (5 of them in a row, looking like '00000'). I'm fairly certain the system will accept those zeros as a valid area code. If it does not, unfortunately, I am not sure. Have you tried entering a US zip code and seeing what happens?

@hearlessbig45 Unfortunately, no, you cannot. Once a SIM card is deactivated due to dormancy, the account balance, account information, and phone number are also cancelled as well. The phone number then gets recycled into a pool so that it can be assigned to another individual. Once a SIM card is deactivated, the phone number cannot be reinstated unless acted upon quickly...

@ingridonce Unfortunately, if you have no used your GoPhone account since 2008, your SIM card has expired. You do have the option to obtain a new one to use with the same phone. You will likely be assigned a new phone number. If you take a trip to a local AT&T corporate store (not authorized retailer) in your area, the employee(s) there will likely give you one for free i...

@Simon Chan Nope, there are no area code restrictions that dictate where you can or cannot purchase your prepaid refill card. You can buy it anywhere nationwide and use it anywhere nationwide.

@UWvisitor Unfortunately, no, you cannot. I believe prepaid customers did have the option to change their rate plan online once upon a time, but for some unknown reason AT&T has decided to revoke it.

@ZugelBoy, when you dialed 611, did you say "more options" when the automated voice response lady told you that you had arrived at the main menu? Say "more options", then "change my voicemail password." You should then be transferred to a customer service rep. who should be able to help you reset your voicemail password so that you can actually access them. Hope this helps...

That is correct. While adding $300 to your account over the course of three years is not necessarily the cheapest way to keep your account active, it will preserve your phone number for up to three years, as long as you keep an eye on when you need to add more money to your account.

On the first call I added $10, thinking he would extend the expiration by 1 year. Because of his misunderstanding, it only extended it by one month. Now to extend 1 year I'll have to pay $107 (after tax) plus the $10 I already paid. So I'll be paying ...

If you exceed the alloted 250 minutes per the terms of the $25 plan, each additional minute costs $0.10 each. In your example, $10 x $0.10 per minute will cover you for an additional 100 minutes on top of your existing 30 minutes remaining. The additional minutes do not show up in your plan summary because technically, they are not a part of your plan. They're a part of yo...

Yes, the new activation will deactivate the current SIM card in your lost iPhone 5. You should still be able to keep your current phone number.

If the original packaging and/or billing statement was included with your purchase, that may help to determine whether or not your phone is a refurbished model. It should say "refurb." If it does not, then it is likely not a refurb. Other than that, there is no other way to tell.

Yes, you have the option to do this. There is no fee to switch the account type over. You should also be able to keep your current phone number. Depending on if you sign a new two-year contract, AT&T may require up to a $500 security deposit upon the creation of a new account. Regardless if you're interested in signing a contract or just operating on a month-to-month basi...

In order to prevent something like this from occurring in the future, perhaps you should consider either: A.) Closely monitoring your voice minutes usage, or B.) Upgrading your monthly plan to one that will better accommodate your needs. It does seem like monthly plans are billed on a 29 day basis, but keep in mind that the day you add money to your account, that day alrea...

It is very likely that you did not receive the SMS message because you are in Australia, and AT&T does not have any towers there, or any type roaming. In your case, since you cannot log in to the account to register a credit or debit card on file, I would suggest perhaps purchasing an AT&T GoPhone Pay As You Go refill card from eBay or Amazon and adding the PIN number on t...

If you do end up getting the T-Mobile phone unlocked, you may use both phones with one SIM card. I previously alternated back and forth between two smartphones. I just chose whichever one I was feeling for the day.

Keep in mind that you are not limited to using the $60 unlimited talk & text w/ 2GB of data plan only. You may also consider the $40 500 minutes and unlimited text w/ 200MB of data if you do not think you'll need more than 200MB and are a bit more frugal like myself. Check out the prepaid plans here: http://m.att.com/shopmobile/wireless/plans/prepaidplans.html
