For the past few days, I keep getting a red SOS where my signal bar would be, and a message saying to inset my SIM card. This comes out of nowhere and I have to shut down and do a battery/SIM pull and reboot. It can happen several times a day. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks!

I hate touch screens and the finger smudges that come with them. To all considering a service provider switch to get the phone you want, keep in mind that Verizon does NOT offer an unlimited data plan to new customers. In fact, no providers do. If you have an unlimited plan and need to keep one, you're stuck with AT&T.

I just did a search for updates and came up with nothing. You sure about this? What I don't understand about the OS6 hype is the lack of a "column view" feature. There are a good many sites and web pages that, when opened, show only a blank white screen. If I switch to column view, the page appears. I can then switch back to page view and have everything be all right. I've...

I installed WLM on my Bold 9700 in August. Immediately I noticed that ONLY contacts who had a microsoft-owned (MSN, Hotmail, Live) messenger name were recognized and compatible. Why? WLM is compatible across the board with other messengers on a PC. Very few of my contacts use Microsoft messengers, making this app nearly worthless to me. Most recently, Three weeks ago I upg...

So for those of us without a PC, the original post still applies: AT&T, where is OS6 that every other carrier is providing to its customers?!

For me it cleared up just around 9am, Pacific time, just before I had to call AT&T. The only affect I noticed was not being able to access the web.

This is exactly what I just came to ask. RIM released OS6 nearly a year ago, and it seems every other carrier has made it available to their customers. To my knowledge, there have even been at least one update to OS6 sisnce its release. Why is AT&T withholding licensed software from its customers? Why does AT&T have an ongoing recording instructing BB users in how to updat...

You got the phone anyways, based on how it meets the tastes and preferences of others. You are correct, there are thousands out there whom have this phone and are happy with it. But yo...

sitnsidewayz wrote: You think the regular Matrix is thick and heavy? You should put your hands on the Pro version. Considering the Matrix is a "dual" slider phone, it should be expected to be thicker than most phones. The Pro version is a smartphone and built much better than the dumbphone Matrix. But it is still not a premium phone in comparison to the the many other sma...

I don't know about the rest of you, but my Matrix alarms work with the phone shut off completely. I think I recall encountering a setting that allows for that somewhere. Actually, every cell phone I've owned allows the alarm to work while powered off. Surprised me each time too!
