@GLIMMERMAN76.You're right. The kernel and LTE bands aren't exact so it won't work on my unlocked S5. Oh well. I kinda knew.

S6 of any type and Note 5 have/or are in the process of getting the update on other carriers. AT&T is just late to the party again.

Yeah, I know what you mean. All the other US Carriers are pushing Marshmallow to the S5 except AT&T. My S5 is AT&T branded but is unlocked. Makes me wonder if I can stick an active T-Mobile SIM in it to get the update.

I'm resolved to the fact that it will be a long time before I get Android 6.0 on my Galaxy S5. I managed to get some of the battery saving features of 6.0 by installing an app called Doze from Google Play. It seems to work pretty good. It isn't exactly the same as the Doze feature in 6.0, but close enough.

GLIMMERMAN76 made a suggestion in a similar post. I did what was suggested, and it worked. Skip the carrier and go to a Samsung Experience Shop at Best Buy. I did and now have Android 5.0

OK, finally got the chance to go to The Samsung Experience at Best Buy. The gentleman there fixed me up. I now have Android Lollipop 5.0.

GLIMMERMAN76, I can't help but wonder if the Samsung Insight App I am forced to run and can't disable is the problem, even though the samsung Insight Team said it isn't. The reason I say that is because everything downloads fine, but during the reboot is when it fails, possibly because that app can't be disabled. Just a thought. I will try your advice when I can. Just afr...

Thanks but I already have those settings in place and have more than enough storage available. Just tried updating again with same results.

My S5 has repeatedly tried to update from 4.4.2 to either another version of Kitkat or Lollipop, but fails. It downloads the update fine, reboots fine, but no update. Instead, there is a message "Update Interrupted" everytime. So I've been stuck on 4.4.2. Tried updating at least Ten times. Very frustrating.

IMEI is unique to each device, but if you mean SIM card, no. It's the same SIM card. Never had any issues updating while it was in other devices.

I'm having the same update issue. This is a new S5 sent to me by Samsung. I am testing an app for them for six months, then get to keep the S5. I am and have been on AT&T for years and this is the AT&T version of the S5 (900A), so that isn't the issue.

I think it actually is a software issue. I had a similar situation with my Samsung years ago. I turned off the app data running in the background and the auto sync and my battery improved. The apps constantly running in the background and Google syncing on a constant basis had a big draw on the battery. The next software update fixed it, but that helped in the meantime. B...

Glad you found the culprit. Bluetooth, wifi, and GPS will all burn a lot of battery. Best to keep them off when not in use. Even more true with the 4.3 firmware.

You may have checked this, but it sounds like she has things running in the background. I'd see what apps are running continually. Also, the more widgets you have on the home screen, the more battery is lost. Turn off bluetooth, WiFi, and GPS when not needed. Lower screen brightness to an acceptable level. also helps to download a battery saver like Juice Defender to help...
