redpoint73 wrote: Gotcha. I have read in reviews that the battery life is a bit short on the EVO. Not surprising with the Snapdragon processor and the huge screen. Has HTC switched to a higher current charger, or were you using a charger from another phone? Every charger I've seen until reletively recent from HTC has the same specs. But I don't know about the newer Snapdr...

You should try Swype before you think you really need a hardware keyboard... I had heard a ton of good things about it before I joined the beta yesterday (which just re-opened), so my expectations were already high, and it still completely blew my mind by how fast and accurate it is. It's made me incredibly glad to have gone w/a large touchscreen phone (EVO)... I'm able t...

I personally have had a GSM smartphone for over 3 years, and have used that feature zero times. But the lack of CDMA support internationally makes Verizon a no-go for me. That's the only thing I'm gonna miss... Simultaneouys data + tal...

@ The OP, if you really want a high-end Android phone w/a landscape keyboard you might be waiting a while... The Galaxy S Pro and the Droid 2 seem to be the only candidates so far. The first has been rumored for Sprint, shots already leaked w/their logo and apps on-board (makes sense as a Samsung Momet replacent too). The latter is obviously gonna be a Verizon exclusive.....

Given HTC's announcement of the Desire going to smaller regional carriers, I'd say that's an almost definite no go for AT&T... Tho they had still promised two HTC Android devices. So it's Aria + possibly a slider? Not much else has leaked on that one GSM HTC slider that passed FCC testing months ago.

In the past AT&T was always the network to be on for the latest and most powerful HTC phones in America and I hope they can go back to being that network instead of "the only place for an Iphone" Honestly, at this point I'd give up any dreams of the Desire coming to AT...

skahead wrote: Its something though... has a faster (more efficient) than the Desire, and in many ways is a better phone, it just will not have the support that an HTC phone would have... it might have to wait a bit longer for upgrades. That said Samsung is the number 2 maker of Andriod phones right behind HTC. Yeap, that's the only downside, support... Whether directly f...

The Aria looks awfully disappointing to me (as a power user) but it's actually a pretty darn nice phone for someone that doesn't want a large smartphone or doesn't need the latest and greatest... IMO it's a tad overpriced at $120 or $130 tho, 'specially considering the iPhone 3GS will now be $99. The Galaxy S/Captivate is the first factual glimmer of hope I've seen for AT...

ameiurus wrote: The EVO is Ok but it needs a slider keyboard (vertical preferable). No way, it's already a pretty massive phone... 'Specially once you put a case or skin on it. If you add a keyboard to a 4.3" screen you're gonna end up w/a total brick. The EVO is actually noticeably heavier than the in-store dummy units, can't imagine how it'd be with a keyboard. The weig...

No doubt, Steve Job's keynote speech at the WWDC was actually kinda pathetic, him trying to sound all enthusiastic about finally upgrading all the things on the iPhone that were inferior to just about every other smartphone on the market, like multitasking, screen resolution, camera quality. I guess the updated count would now be up to 4 phones, The Aria/Liberty that has been leaked (w/photos) at several places is similar to the Legend but definitely not the same phone... It could be a L...

Pretty sure the EVO (and all HTC phones) come w/a PDF reader out of the box (not Adobe's, which was only released recently)... I can check later if you want. I'm not sure what difference it makes tho. T-Mo may have recently released the HD2 but none of the other carriers are gonna come close to touching anything w/WM 'till Microsoft releases Windows Phone 7 in Q4, and it ...
