Rather than changing the APN settings, it might be easier to try *#*#INFO#*#* and see if you can view Phone Information and change the GSM/CDMA settings in there...assuming you don't have a custom ROM.

I just bought my parents a pair of Pantech Breeze III's because they looked very user-friendly. They live in an area on the edge of 3G whose coverage has been shaky at best. After checking the network settings in "Advanced" mode, I couldn't find the option to use GSM only & disable 3G. Their previous phones were LG CU720 (Shine's) which could get 3-4 bars of GSM/EDGE/ vs....

I don't agree with the labeling either, but T-mobile also calls their HSPDA network 4G. Real 4G, LTE on the 700/800/1900 MHz bandwidths, is just now starting to come around and only available on limited GSM-based phones. It would've been nice if they called it 3G+ or 3.5G instead of the inherently misleading 4G (which is defined as LTE by IEEE)

You would have to activate tethering (regardless if you have a data plan already) and pay about $60 for a data cap that isn't large enough ...

You can't unless you pay for Smart Limits on your phone or if your particular model supports it internally. For example, with the LG CU500, I had a Call Reject List for crazy ex-girlfriends. LOL

You're welcome, Tumbletree. Make sure you return to this thread and tell the other community users if you were able to successfully email it to yourself and set the ringtone. Undoubtably others have encountered the same issue and will want to know what you did and if it worked.

Trumblebee wrote: Is there any other way to get the ringtones actually ON the phone? I didn't see anything about Bluetooth, USB connectivity, or microSD expansion on the Samsung support page . If this is correct, you may have to either resort to creating the mp3 audio file, attach it to a blank email, and then sending it to yourself at 1234567890 @mms.att.net where "123.....

Hi Devra, Wi-fi (along with Bluetooth, cordless phones, and microwaves) all use the 2400MHz wireless frequency. [ Wikipedia ]. In the US, cellular networks use the following frequencies (700, 800, 850, 1700, 1900, 2100). To see what's in play in your neighborhood, check the Wireless Advisor . Just like the radio in your car, one channel will not interfere with another unl...

Re: Tumblebee Hi Tumblebee, A SIM card is the chip that identifies your phone to the network. It's small, rectangular and normally has gold contacts on one side and the AT&T logo on the other. The card can help to store minor information like a limited number of contacts. A MicroSD card is a non-volatile NAND-based flash memory chip that can store potentially large sums o...

You can find some LG phones that have big screens that are not smartphones in this side-by-side comparison . Your Shine has a 2.2" screen, the Vu has 3.0", the Invision also has 2.2", the Xenon has 2.8", and the CF360 has a smaller screen at 2.0". You're most likely going to have a problem viewing any of the mirrored screen LG models outside. This isn't because they're not...
