Since the information as you say is clearly there why aren't the reps telling people. I know I specifically asked if I got the free upgrade ON THE ATT website would my rate plan change. I was talking to the rep about my upgrade and asked if I upgraded my phone would I have to change my rate plan. He knew I was looking at upgrading on the AT&T website.

It is different when you call and are assured your rate plan would remain the same if I upgraded. If he had told me the truth I would have purchased the phone else ware. It seems to me AT&T has sunk so low that they are lying and tricking their customers.

Your right. But I should have been told that when I specifically asked the rep. I know a free upgrade sometimes costs somewhere else. The rep lied to me.

I called and specifically asked if my rate plan would change. I got the phone at no charge so I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to get screwed on my rate plan. If they had told me I would have purchased a phone my friend was selling for $200. With the rate increase over 2 years the phone is costing me $600.
