Hi, here's answers to your questions.... We do have VOIP, and do have the battery installed. It shows as fully charged. I just unplugged the unit briefly and the connection was maintained so I don't think it's a power issue. FWIW, we do have it plugged into a power strip (don't have access to the wall outlet) but the old 2-Wire was connected the same way and never rebooted...

Got upgrade to the new 45/6 speed last week, and with it came a new Motorola NVG589. Been very pleased with the speeds and line stability so far (very few errors), but what I am not pleased with is that every couple days, the NVG589 spontaneously reboots itself. This is annoying when you lose internet randomly for 5 minutes or so while it reconnects, I gotta imagine this ...

Thanks - the problem is that I need to wait till the lockup happens again - it only occurs every 12-18 hours or so, and if I call in between lockups everything looks fine (my line states are excellent). The only thing they would see is possibly that I rebooted my router at some point. Do you think they will take it upon my word that I've been having these problems and that...

The factory reset fixed the issue - for about 3 weeks - but they came back last night. SO I need to either do another factory reset or call AT&T to get the unit replaced.

FWIW, I finally tried a full factory reset of the gateway (via the red button). It was a pain in the derrier setting everything back up, but the good news is in a week or so since then, I have not had any kernel thread locks (krtlocks) or freezes. Given that they were regularly coming every 12-18 hours before, this is a pretty good sign things might be fixed. Still can't ...

I may be having the same issue as you, with the lockups - however, I have a "clean" case because I just have pure internet and phone via ethernet. No coax, no TV. I did some pretty advanced logging and found that the issue is a kernel thread lock. http://forums.att.com/t5/Residential-Gateway/Residential-Gateway-occasionally-locking-up-with-krtlock-errors/td-p/2954471 Pleas...

Here you go. I don't have any coax/HPNA devices so I didn't include that one.

A couple weeks ago, we had some serious problems with our U-verse internet (we just have internet and phone, not TV). The router would randomly reboot, had a problem getting a signal, and such. This was after it had been running fine for months. Anyway, to make a long story short, AT&T techs replaced the RG, and did some wiring cleanup outside the house and on the line, a...

I feel your pain....this is why I asked the question, because I keep hearing different info from different AT&T sources. I am in Lawrence, Kansas, and bought my iPhone 3g in July, AT&T said 3g would be coming in September, then October, the "4th Quarter" and now the year is almost out and still just crappy old EDGE!

Is there any way I can find out from AT&T when 3g service will be available in my area?
