my wife has the $15 data plan, we didn't figure she needed more than that because she's almost always near a wifi router. however, she's still ringing up around 5-6 MB a day a data usage, even when she's on a router... how can this be? Is there a way to force the phone to NOT use the data connection, and instead use wifi?

Why don't you try the Samsung Captivate? It seem to have everything you say you want that being said, I chose the Motorola bravo... it's an amazing phone and seems to be less buggy than the captivate. People whine about the 3mp camera, but i'm trying to take a "keeper" picture, I'm not going to be using my PHONE. 3mp is plenty for any digital use

got my phone yesterday, it's incredible so far. I turned off the live wallpaper to help the performance, and I'm still putting everything the way I think I'm going to like it. I don't know what's cooler... swype, or the voice command typing... Ilove being able to talk and it types for me. I didn't even know that was a feature!

Thanks for those links. I did read through the manual already, but there's no substitute for having the phone in my hand, which will happen Saturday morning. It did answer the question I couldn't figure out while messing with the phone in the store, which was how to turn on swype

Just took the plunge and bought a Bravo from Amazon for a penny. I've been a windows 6 user for years, so this will be quite a change for me I'm nervous that nobody posting here has owned of these phones, but I couldn't make myself get the Samsung captivate because of all of the inconsistent reviews it was getting.. Too many people were getting fed up and sending them bac...

I expanded my family plan from 550 to 1400 minutes and I dont remember it ever instituting a new plan. You might want to a rep about this. It might be as simple as first changing your minutes, and later adding a line.

i'm pretty sure you you can add to your family plan without it effecting the contracts of existing lines. All of my lines have different expiration dates, and one doesn't seem to effect the others

sounds logical, and a good reason to continue the $5 a month insurance on my son's smartphone. I can do insurance replacements as needed on it forever, and never renue my contract, therefore never kicking in the data charges, which are blocked on his phone for now

express mail will work using wifi, but make sure you block your data by accidently connecting. I was using both for a while, and it would randomly switch to data whenever I got more than 10 yards away from the router
