Two words: Galaxy Nexus. I had an SGH-I777, and switched to an international, penta-band GSM Galaxy Nexus configured for the "pure Google experience". I have the latest version of ICS 4.0.4 (yakju IMM76I), and it's really stable. I'm now on day 26 without a reboot. Plus no TouchWiz or bloatware and updates come straight from Google. And, I'm expecting that I'll have Jellyb...

>>> I may even wait until ICS 4.1 Ummm ... I believe 4.1 will not be Ice Cream Sandwich. It'll be Jellybean (should be announced this week?), and I doubt you'll ever see an official Jellybean release for the I777.

Works great for me as well. I moved my SIM from my Galaxy S II to my new Galaxy Nexus three weeks ago and have had zero problems. I may just stay with un-branded international GSM phones from now on.

Okay. My main phone is now an unlocked GSM Galaxy Nexus (I9250), with the I777 as my "drop-back" phone. Google Wallet for the Nexus phones is now available via Google Play. It's also now included in one of the Google ICS factory images (takju ... my phone is yakju IMM76I). I'm thinking I might take it for a test drive on the I9250. Google pre-loads it with $10 when you ac...

In general: Does AT&T sell a phone that supports Google Wallet? Or, more specifically: It's my understanding that my SGH-I777 has NFC hardware but that AT&T chose not to enable it. Are there any rumors about enabling it via an ICS stock ROM? Is that even possible?

I bought one of these, it's not as tight as my original battery cover but it's okay and makes the phone look kinda like the European version. Keep in mind that you'll lose your PTT button. http://www.msgdigital.com/productdetail.asp?productid=47493 Re: ROM - I installed the updated "official" ROM. My warranty expired in October, so I may investigate custom ROMs when I get...

I flashed the new ROM yesterday, and have been putting my customizations back on. (I'd forgotten about that silly 1:02 clock flip thing, LOL.) CrudScraper.exe got rid of some of the bloatware, but there's still a ton of it in there. I need to find a thread that explains how to get rid of the rest of it. It's a nice ROM, but I'm not sure about all the claims as to speed. I...

Question - if I wanted to pop this ROM onto my phone, would I need to hardSPL it first? Or does it just install like an official release? I don't want to hardSPL at least until my warranty period is up (October). Mike

Yeah, my jaw dropped, too. I'm going to wait for an official release, but the reports on XDA say it's pretty fast. Looking forward to it. Some screenshots here . Mike
