Here is the information from DirecTV: A DIRECTV 4K Ready TV has a built-in RVU technology that lets you enjoy DIRECTV service and full HD DVR functionality without a receiver when it’s used as an additional TV in a Genie HD DVR setup. Unless I'm not understanding correctly, this sounds as if they're eliminating the need for a receiver but I do not understand how you can r...

I just purchased the LG 65UH7700 and was told by an LG rep that it's currently not on the list of DirecTV 4K ready models, although the previous gen same model is. I was wondering if anyone has a TV with that feature, which they claim eliminates the need for a DVR box. If that's the case, how do you save recorded programs? Also, is the app robust enough to operate the sam...

I received an AT&T variant of the One M9 directly from HTC. Since it has the AT&T logo on the back and lists AT&T as the carrier in the "About Phone" section of settings menu, I assume that to mean it's "locked". I noticed that HTC One M8 and M9 unlocked devices will receive Android 6.0 before the AT&T versions. Does this mean that having a carrier variant device unlocked...

Got up this morning and hit the check for updates and it's downloading on my HTC One now! FINALLY I'm in Sacramento.

Is anyone in this thread really surprised that we're last in line for this update? HTC made a huge mistake to make the announcement that by end of January all HTC One carrier variants would have the update. However, being that Sprint and Verizon users already got it, and this week T-Mobile will have it, it's quite obvious (or it should be) that HTC did their part. If it w...

If there is a Device Support center near you, you'll probably need to go in there and have them flash your phone with 4.3 again. Once you have a new update, you cannot revert back to old unless you root and install custom ROM.

Good luck!! LG has announced that the information about the Estonia update was inaccurate... http://www.cultofandroid.com/47924/lg-insists-release-android-4-4-kitkat-optimus-g/ LG says it doesn’t know when the KitKat update will be available for the Optimus G — or whether it will come at all. I had the Optimus G...great phone if you don't care about receiving updates (or ...

Here's a new webpage provided by HTC to give owners an idea of all that's involved in keeping devices up to date. It provides information for which stage of the process they're in for HTC One devices. http://www.htc.com/us/go/htc-software-updates/ Here's a direct link to the diagram showing the process (from Google update release to OTA download) http://www.extremetech.co...

I had the Optimus G (non-Pro) and after experiencing issues following the 4.1.2 update, I moved to the HTC One. As other user mentioned, now that G2 is out that's the focus. This came from an IBT article dated 12/14/13: No Kitkat updates are expected for the LG handsets until March 2014 when the LG G2 will get bumped up to Kitkat. Otherwise, the firm hasn't made any annou...

This is known hardware issue with the One X. My mother in law had the same problem and someone in a store taped the SIM to the SIM tray. It didn't fix the problem entirely but the error is much less frequent. Also, her phone also sporadically reboots.

If I were you, I would not anticipate getting Android 4.4 Kit Kat for your phone anytime soon, despite all of the other Samsung devices that will receive it early next year. I had the Skyrocket and it was always far behind the other models when ICS and JB came out, and Samsung has released so many devices since then that are getting way more attention. The Skyrocket is pr...
