You're welcome I got really frustrated trying to figure out what to do. Once I found out about the app, it was easy-peasy.

Uninstall the task killer you probably have installed. Task Killers kill apps you know about and also processes you don't know about. One of the processes killed seems to affect email notifications and emails in general. Android isn't Windows. It manages task killing quite well on its own, so if you have a Task Killer installed UN-install it.

I use the Screen Capture Shortcut app from the Market: http://www.appbrain.com/app/screen-capture-shortcut-free/jp.tomorrowkey.android.screencaptureshortcutfree Works great for the Captivate. The app is super easy to use. Better than trying figure out the right combo and timing of key presses to use it, imho.

The Captivate has a proximity sensor that turns the screen off when it's pressed against your ear. I imagine if you're talking with it pressed against your shoulder, you may be shifting it such that the proximity sensor activates the screen (because it's not close to your ear and can see daylight, so to speak) and then when you shift, your ear then presses a button. Since...

Do you guys/gals have a Task Killer installed? If you do, uninstall it. That could be the cause of a lot of your problems.

I have Alarm Clock Plus v2. Love the option for math probs before snoozing and dismissing. Even doing an easy math prob helps wake you up. I snooze less now If you get Rings Extended from the Market it makes it very easy to use your existing music tracks to wake up to.

I liked TouchWiz ok, but really didn't like the inefficient use of space on the homescreens. So switched to LPP, which I like a lot for the customization and the scrollable dock. Flash is really overrated. If you're in graphics, you would know that flash "washes out" color that you *cannot* ever put back into a photo. You're better off taking a dark photo and then using P...

You're right. No interval for setting for popping. But, hopefully, your comcast email is now getting reliably to your phone. I really like gmail myself, as I like threaded emails, so I really didn't mind changing over to gmail.

You're welcome. If you keep background sync on, as soon as the comcast account pops into your gmail, you'll get it on your phone. I think you can set up your gmail pop online to check frequently, which would then push faster to your phone. I'll check tomorrow when I log into my computer and let you know how to do it, if it is at all possible.

Thanks, everyone, for all your suggestions! After looking at the suggestions and doing some research of my own, I decided to purchase this Arkon mount: Arkon Universal SmartPhone/PDA Vent & Car Mount (but I bought it before it went on sale. That's the kind of luck I have. If I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all! LOL) It is AWESOME. Fits my Captivate per...

Call your cell phone number. When it picks up, hit * Then enter your PIN. Hope you remember it if it was from long ago. If you don't remember, you need to dial your VM from your cell and then go thru the menu to reset the VM password. Message Edited by Zandora on 08-06-2009 09:47:15 PM

You need to know the recipient phone's carrier. If you were texting AT&T phones: SMS / Text - 10digitphonenumber@txt.att.net MMS (picture/video msg) - 10digitphonenumber@mms.att.net Wilcre had a post about the many other carriers' email addresses. Another way (the way I usually do it)... I add cell phone numbers into my AIM buddy list and then just IM my friends' phones f...

Sounds like one of your parents (assuming they're the account holder), put SmartLimits on your phone to prevent you from texting that person. You'll need to discuss with the account holder.

Sounds like you have internet blocked on your line. You need the account holder to call Customer Service to enable internet on your line in order for MMS and the preinstalled IM to work. They both need to be active to work. Even though MMS and the preinstalled IM's use data to work, data associated with MMS and using the preinstalled IM is INCLUDED in your family messagin...

If you are the account holder, you need to call AT&T Customer Care and have them remove the MediaNet block on your line. If you are not the account holder, you need to ask the account holder to remove the MediaNet block on your line.

Unfortunately, no. Once the texts are delivered to your phone, they are deleted from the AT&T servers. Once you delete them from your phone, they are deleted forever. The best thing to do is to try to retrieve them from your phone in some way. If that is not an option, you are out of luck for the past texts. If your ex is still making threats via text, you can work with a...
