Updated yesterday and really like the improvements! Feeling sorry for the Xperia Play customers with AT&T. Bob H Minneapolis, MN

UPDATE! - Well I found that my phone will work after all . I found that naming the media server on the phone, you cannot have any spaces or special characters in the name. I changed it back to the default which was ST15a and now it shows up on the DirecTV menu under 'Computers'. Previous name had a space and ' mark in it. This was not the default name either by the way. I...

fragile, Thanks for the leg work on trying the different options. That will save me some effort! I was simply looking for an easy way to view photos that are on my camera on the TV without having to first dump them on my home computer. Now the question is WHO is not compliant with the DLNA standards? DirecTV or the Sony Phone App? Regards, Bob

fragile, Great. Be sure you comment back on phone model, android version and also what media server app is running on the phone. Not all manufactures include a DLNA server app. I think you can get one called TonkeyServer or something like that on the Android Market if your phone does not have one. Bob

dcd, So you basically are saying that the DLNA standards apply differently to different devices? That sure conflicts with the announcement of this sort of capability regarding DirecTV. DIRECTV, the world's largest pay TV provider, joins existing DLNA Promoter Members in implementing the Alliance's vision of connecting the digital home with DLNA Certified® products, allowi...

bob_nielsen, You are mis-understanding. I am not trying to view content from the DirecTV box. The phone has a 'Media Server' application. It can serve content (photos) to DLNA compliant devices. It will serve content to Windows 7 for example just fine. When I enable the media server on the phone, it sees other DLNA compliant devices on my network, such as my laptop and Di...

My phone is DLNA compliant. It's a Sony Ericsson Xperia model. Yes I am on wifi. It connects to the DirecTV box and reports it's MAC address, just as PC connections to my phone do. I would assume the DirecTV hardware is following DLNA standards. Bob H Minneapolis, MN

My cell has Android Gingerbread 2.3.4 on it. It has a built in app for media sharing. When I enable it, it sees my DirecTV receiver and I authorize it to connect. and it shows 'connected'. When I go to the DirecTV media share menu I only see my home desktop pc. The Android phone does not appear. I am able to access the desktop pc just fine. Wondering why the Android media...

There are two versions of the Arc (LT15x), International and American. Using the 'i' version you will only get 2G on AT&T. 3G Network HSDPA 900 / 2100 - LT15i HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 / 800 - LT15a Bob H

Now that you can get both of these on Newegg.com ... I'm wondering what happens if you use your non-Smartphone SIM (Sony C905a for example) that has the non-Smartphone data plan on it in one of these. Does data access work? If so ... buying one of these from Newegg even with the large up front out of pocket cost, would pay for itself pretty quick being able to get unlimit...

Launched in Asia and UK and recently got FCC approval with AT&T frequencies. From what I've seen online, I'd lean towards it vs. Neo or Arc. Bob H

The AT&T 3G MicroCell device acts like a mini cell tower in your home . It connects to your home internet.

No radio ... it's an Android device. The Symbian Vivaz from Sony Ericsson continues with the SE radio tradition. Bob H
