Since there is no 4G or 4GS, you will not be upgrading to either non-existent device. The newest iPhone is a 4S. It helps to use correct terminology.

Any attempts to sync the device to a different computer/library will wipe the contents from the device. Manage syncing of contacts/media on the devices with the computer they are already synced with.

You honestly think a lot of people will ETF out at $165~ per line (assuming contracts were started June/July 2010) to go to another carrier, sign a new 2yr contract and pay a minimum of $199 for a new 4S? That's just dumb. They are not eligible for an upgrade based on th...

The only legitimate way to get a data only plan for a smartphone is to provide AT&T with proof that you are legally deaf. Once that is done, they will drop the voice plan requirement and allow you to have data only. Other than that, a MiFi and iPhone or iPod Touch would be the next "best" option. You could pick a MiFi from any carrirer that provides good coverage in the a...

Facebook uses data, so if you spend time using the facebook app/mobile website, you are using data.

We are not AT&T employees, we are customers just like yourself. Is it really that difficult to understand? Unless YOU provide some answers to the questions that have been asked, there is no one here that can help you. Do you want answers, or do you simply have nothing better to do than waste everyone's time? Make a decision.

Well, considering the 4S is not even available for pre-order at this point, I really don't see how AT&T could indicate that any user is eligible to upgrade to it. Wait until Friday when it is available for pre-order and things will very likely change.

Your logic is semi correct. Keep in mind, if you terminate one of the existing lines when the contract for that lines expires, you lose that number. There is no way to transfer (or port) the number from one line on an account to another. Depending on how long you have had those numbers, that may be an issue for you. Typically, AT&T offers an early upgrade option which is ...

According to Apple's announcement, yes. There is a caveat though. The iPhone 4 will only be available in an 8GB version and will be $99. Granted any 16GB and 32GB versions that remain in inventory are still available for sale.

Have you tried restarting or reseting the iPhone? Specifically resetting network connections in Settings > General?

This is a limitation of iOS on the 3GS. Look at it this way, personal hotspot is a form of tething, other forms of tethering are via a cable or bluetooth connection. The 3GS can tether...

Basic troubleshooting is reset, restart, restore. Has any of that been tried? A restore is a bit drastic at this point, but resetting or restarting the device may very well resolve the issue. Also, Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

As has been asked and answered here a few hundred times, AT&T does not unlock iPhones for anyone for any reason. Apple will not unlock iPhones without a carrier request. There are unofficial ways to unlock the device, google is your friend.

What does this have to do with the iPhone or AT&T? All apps for the iPhone come from the iTunes store which is controlled by Apple. Did you possibly post to the wrong forum?

Try a reset or restart of the phone. When you go into the network settings, you should only get the spinning circle for a second or two and then it changes to "Set Up Personal Hotspot". At least that is what happens on my 3GS.

HSPA+ has nothing to do with whether the G2 will work on AT&T or not. The G2 is a TMO device and as such uses TMO's 3G network frequency of 1700Mhz. AT&T's 3G network frequency is 850Mhz and 1900 Mhz. The G2 simply does not have the hardware to work on AT&T's 3G/HSPA+ network.
