bill reduction after buying new phone from 3rd party?

i have been an ATT subscriber since iphone 3s days.

For the first time I have bought a phone outright from Apple.

Because part of my ATT bill prior to this point has been to subsidize a cheap/free phone bought through ATT -- and I'm no longer doing that -- shouldn't my bill go down?

If you are on a plan that predates the MSV plan, you will not receive the line discount. Discounts ONLY began with MSV plans and now the MSA plan. What service plan do you have?

Also, if you are under a two year contract, switching phones has nothing to do with the discount. You MUST fulfill your two year contract before the discount kicks in regarless of where your current phone came from.

Additional information:  now that 2 year contracts are gone, buying a phone with next is an additional  charge for the installment on the bill.

Of you have unlimited data, the plan is worth keeping.  Older minute plans with limited data cost more for less.

ATT is debuting a new plan tomorrow with $20 line fee, but lower data prices.
