Switcher program issues!
We switched from Verizon to AT&T in February. After waiting and waiting for our rebate we got a letter saying we failed to turn in our old phones so we don't qualify. We have the paper work that shows we did. We went down to the local AT&T store and talked with someone. They copied our paperwork and promised to call us back by today. Well, guess what, no phone call. Try calling the store and it goes straight to voicemail. Try calling the rebate phone number and you get a message saying " we are experiencing a higher than normal call volumn" and they hang up! I'm so mad! I'm ready to drop them and I don't care what it costs! I'll post it where ever I can! AT&T scams people!!!

For example:
If you owed T-mobile $200 on each phone and got $200 or more for the trade in on the phones, then you don't get any more.
The offer is a break even only.
Did you write the phone numbers for each line on the final bill? After you port numbers out, the bill does not show phone numbers anymore.
If you left this off your final bill submission, then the rejection was correct and you have to resubmit.
Contact @ATTMobilityCare if you are past the 60 day mark for help resubmitting you're final bill.

What was your husbands phone? And what was its value ? Did he have an ETF or Edge balance?
The offer was only for phone reimbursement, not a balance for your service, taxes and fees.
So if you were bailing from Verizon due to high overage charges, those were never going to be covered.
Since the offer is a reimbursement only, the suggestion you sell the phone and use the money may have been correct.
(For example an iPhone 6s in mint condition would still sell for about 80-90% of its retail price. If you purchased from Verizon on contract you get the remainder of the ETF, which is far less than retail. If you paid more than 80% of the Device payments, you also break even or get more if you sold it.
Since the 6S is completely compatible with ATT, paying off, keeping it is the best option, and cheapest option. )

The fine print is a {edited for word filter evasion}!! Here are the things that don't get mentioned:
-the trade in is sent to one company by att and that company confirms
receipt and sends verification to Young America (third party outsourced
call center that cannot do anything but read the same screen from
online)even the supervisors at Young America can do nothing for escalating
or additional concerns.
-the money att credits you in the store and says you have so much dollars
to spend on extras really comes from the bottom line of the supposed rebate
card you should get for the switch. So for example my termination fee with
Verizon was 433.00, att said I had 219 dollars to use as a credit for my
trade in for in store purchases. The rebate amount I'm now waiting on is
218 not the 433 I had to pay Verizon. So the same products I bought in
store for 219 I could have bought online for 75%less and gotten a bigger
rebate to pay verizon.
-general processing time att tells you is 8 weeks. But I called Young
America at 8weeks and it's really 8-10 weeks so I called at 10 weeks and
they tell me it's always been 10-12 weeks. Yet there prerecorded line while
waiting for a representive says allow 8 weeks for processing.
-What they also forget to mention is that there is a 3 Billing cycle hold
for verification that you pay your bill for those 3 cycles on time and in
full.
Att store or 611 cannot help with these issues because att company decided
to out source there promotion to another company. Worst business decision
because att is getting the attorney general complaints and the BBB
complaints and not young america.
Needless to say after one denied submission for no trade in verification
and one valid submission, many phone calls to att, the store and young
america I finally got someone to say "I don't know why it's taking so long
I'll finalize it right now" and "please allow 2 weeks for shipping" fingers
crossed 1 week to go. Oh and I switched 2/28/16. 21 weeks and counting.

You are not required to use the instant credit on in store merchandise. You can use it to pay your bill.

for the phone... as for EDGE balances, we both had them.
We were not bailing due to overage charges, we were bailing to get our
monthly down.
As for my phone, the rep never gave me the option of keeping my Galaxy S6
edge. He said the promotion was if I switched and got new phones from
ATT. He said ATT would reimburse me for paying off my Verizon phone. When
I asked him what I needed to do with my old phone, that's when he said I
could get more selling it outside rather than to ATT.
Which obviously didn't happen.

I finally got my visa card but it took months and several submissions to get it. Here's what I did after submitting online to no avail. I gathered all of my paperwork and receipts. I copied everything and wrote a letter to Young America with copies of all the receipts and the explanations of my frustrations. I had an early termination fee with Sprint and I turned in a 1 year old iPhone 6 Plus that was in excellent condition. The representatives in the AT&T store where I made my switch from Sprint to AT&T basically represented to me the same selling points as listed above. Had I have known that it was going to turn out this way I would never have switched-my bill is much higher with AT&T than it was with Sprint and the service is not as great, but I did it because I have Uverse TV & Internet (which by the way isn't all that great either because if the internet goes out you have no tv). Anyway, I did get results but only after I sent a letter by snail male. I had my refund within about 4 weeks after the letter (maybe even less time than that). I wrote the attorney general's office of TX (filed a complaint) and wrote the BBB. It shouldn't be that difficult. If AT&T wants to offer rewards, how about cheaper prices instead of credit cards that may or may not be issued? Good luck-I feel your pain.

Neither phone would work as well on ATT as they did on Verizon. iPhone is a world of its own and goes everywhere.
This thread seems to be a long list of customers who got lousy information on the promotion.
Highlights the need for better training.
And they just started another one. Agh. 4th time the charm?

Hey guys had this same issue with att when switching from verizon. This issue went on for months and is still being resolved by an executive in the att president's office. The switcher offer is a very painful process with att and would not reccomend getting involved with it and I would recccomend any person who has this issue to contact the att presidents office at ({Inappropriate content removed}) and talk to an executive at the att presidents office and explain your issue. My switcher offer issue is still being resolved by an executive, but I think by having an executive investage it could help get to the bottom of your issue.
