Switcher Program Rebate

Hello to all this may concern,

My hopes are to reachout to the people that haven't blindly went into this program and are doing some research on it beforehand (as I should have). The process to get the rebate from switching is painful and long... and the chances of you getting it are slim. My status is currently in the "required waiting period". I just paid my 3rd bill, think that puts me on 8-9weeks and the program promises 4-6weeks. I can't get any support, email or phone to help me in anyway.

You can take a few minutes here(or google) and find plenty of posts that are having issues with this program. AT&T and Young America(runs the program) have a lack communication with each other. I worked directly with a AT&T store manager doing the switcher program so you would think that I was in good hands... And calling Young America is like bashing your head against a brick wall.

Lesson here is don't switch to AT&T unless you are ready to pay for your cancelation fees. I'd love to hear if anyone actuallly recieved a rebate... [Edited to comply with Guidelines]

Best of luck!

Hey @Airbird!

My apologies for your rebate trouble that would definitely be angering!

The switcher credit is an amazing value, but can really be frustrating if something goes wrong.

Are they still reviewing your rebate? Have you been given any guidance from Young America on why this may be taking longer than usual (If there’s a specific piece of information we need to provide them etc.)?

We would be glad to raise this issue with them, if they are not cooperating!

I appreciate you bringing this to our attention! Looking forward to hearing from you soon!

Thanks for the response. I have not recieved any reply or call back from Young America after I asked for a update on the status of my rebate and requested to know why it was taking longer than anticipated. I just checked now to see the status and it is still at "required waiting period".

Thanks again and hopefully you can help me or anyone else having problems. AT&T needs to start lighting fires under Young America to get the ball moving for it's customers.

Just an update. The problem was that my phone that I traded in was never received.. it was lost somewhere between giving it to the store and the store sending it in... Odd that they wouldn't have anyway to track them. I had the store manager work with and put a note on my account that he did work with me and I did trade in my iphone 6 at the time of the switch. He also noted the amount I was charged by Sprint for canceling. I had to call AT&T customer service again and they saw the note and credited my account that amount. AT&T customer service handled this well after some legwork on my end. I'm still not very happy with the vague and delayed replies that Young America provided... could use improvement.

Lesson here is document everything you do when using this program.

Thanks.

Hello,

I am having the SAME ISSUE!!! Coincidence? I think not. After calling multiple times and saying the phone was never received then, going into the store the sales rep said it was processed and they don't see any issues. We did receive a bill credit and then submitted via switcher now there it is pending since they "never received the phone" They promise you  gift card and talk about how easy it it. At this point what do i do? Do I need to go back into the store? I am ready to file a report to the attorney generals office for the misconception of this program!!

@Taylors0214. If you have proof the phone was raided in at store, and processed, then take that proof on papaer and start bugging ATT with copies.

You can contact support through the forum by message here >> @ATTMobilityCare

They can help you put all the information together and get your reimbursement.

All I have is the store receipt that says trade in. I went back to the store and they said it was processed. I spoke to customer rep on the phone and she was going to escalate. I have heard nothing since. Should I ask the store for the documents that were processed? I am a bit fresutrated at this point since this has been JUNE!!!! Can you believe that! 5 Months?? Come on now that is just ridiculous!! @ATTMobilityCare

Taylor,

Here's what I had to do. Do not contact Young America... they aren't easy to communicate with. Actually had a great experience working directly with AT&T. Have the rep at the store put on your account in the "notes" that they received your phone and processed it but some how was lost when it was sent out to AT&T. Also have him include what you paid for in cancellation fees from your last carrier (make sure to have your phone bill on you so he/she can review it). Call up AT&T and have them review the notes, they can at that point work with you on providing you some kind of credit based on that.

@Lizdance, when this happen to me they did not provide me with any type of paperwork. Some stores aren't processing it the correct way, they are just taking the phone and sending it in. From what I was told they should be filling out a form for the make model and condition. I was lucky and the store manager remembered me and handled it as I stated above.

Hey @Taylors0214!

I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you’ve had with your rebate!

If you returned the phone at the store, and Young America has yet to receive it, returning there is a good idea!

They should be able to vouch for the trade-in, since there’s no way you could have shipped it incorrectly if you handed it over to us personally!

I appreciate you reaching out about this, we want to be sure you are credited appropriately!

Have an awesome day!

I will go there this weekend in hopes they will do this! Just cusrious what the amount of credit you received? We received around $300 for the trade in as bill credit. But what about the final bill? They state they will pay the remaining balancea and send a gift card? They make it sound so good. I hate that I am a complete marketing sucker!
