Not receiving txt 2 pay notifications out of the blue

Not receiving txt 2 pay notifications out of the blue. The correct line is setup on the txt 2 pay web page but I am not receiving texts for that line. Also one of my other lines which is not the account holders line nor the line setup for txt 2 pay they told me they had received late bill notifications but me the account holder has not. This problem has already caused me to have 2 late bills with overage fees. Very very annoying.

Hello @jaron1478!

TXT-2-PAY is such an awesome way to pay your bill. When things stop working it can certainly throw a wrench into plans. I would love to help you out!

Since the TXT-2-PAY is set up properly to notify the account holder, I would recommend completely removing the number and re-adding it. You can also head to your myATT profile and ensure your billing notifications are set to the correct profiles. Our article for custom billing notifications has all the steps you need to ensure your notifications are heading to the correct number.

Thanks for reaching out! Have a great rest of your week!

I've unenrolled and reenrolled in TXT-2-Pay twice now and the service still isn't working properly. Some months I get the TXT-2-Pay alert and others I don't. A trouble ticket had been opened on multiple occasions without any resolution or any additional contact to me. In the meantime, when I don't get the TXT 2 Pay notification and I forget to pay my cell phone bill AT&T charges me a $5 late fee. I have the money to pay my bill but AT&T offers customers a payment feature that doesn't work. If I expect to eat a text to pay my bill and I don't get it then I may forget to pay the bill. How can Chipotle and Dunkin Donuts send out text messages to customers successfully for promotions but AT&T, a communications company, can't get it right? I brought this to AT&T's attention 8 months ago. I was told the tech department would research the issue and reach out to me. I've never heard from AT&T about this trouble ticket.

If the TXT 2 Pay service isn't working properly then don't offer it. If it does work as intended then please tell me how I can make sure it works consistently for me.

Thank you,

An AT&T customer of more than 2 decades

Hello @NoTextAgain!

I am sorry to read you are having trouble with our TXT 2-Pay notifications. I know how important it is to receive the notification your bill is ready to pay.

If you have tried the above suggestions and are still experiencing issues, please send a private message to @ATTMobilityCare. Within the message, please include your full name, account number, best time and method to contact you.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Michelle and @ATTCares,

I reached out to @ATTMobilityCare and the Office of the President a week ago. I still haven't heard anything. Can you provide me with some direction of what I should do next? This has happened with this same TXT 2 Pay issue in the past. I'm told AT&T will look into it and get back to me but I never hear back. Should I expect any different this time?

Hello @NoTextAgain!

Thank you for reaching back. Since you have been in contact with the Office of the President, they would be your main point of contact to see if they may have an update regarding your TXT-2-Pay situation. They are great at resolving issues and giving updates. With it being a week since hearing from them, I highly recommend giving a call back to see if there might be any news.

Best regards,

Hi Michelle and @ATTCares,

I again reached out to the Office of the President who connected me with Samantha. She placed me on hold for nearly a half hour as she reviewed the case notes. Once she came back on the line she stated the TXT-2-Pay is a "courtesy service" which is free and I shouldn't expect it to work all the time. She stated that AT&T offers many other ways to pay my bill and if I incur a $5 late charge because the TXT-2-Pay service isn't working then going forward it's my responsibility to pay that charge. Samantha told me that if I was unhappy with her response I could call back the Office of the President and open up a new case regarding the same issue.

This is the answer I waited a week for? Samantha is in a leadership position at AT&T. It's awful that this isn't her stance in "helping" customers. What would you suggest at this point?

@ATTCares @ATTMobilityCare Can I expect a response from AT&T on this? Can customers count on TXT-2-Pay to work?

Hello @NoTextAgain!

Thank you for keeping us updated. I sincerely apologize about your experience you had when you contacted the Office of the President. I will be happy to continue assisting!

I understand receiving notifications is a great way to avoid getting late fees when it comes to paying your bill on time. I appreciate you sending us a private message to investigate what is causing this error. At this moment, I have not received your information, but as soon as I do, I will be in contact with you.

In the meantime, I would like to provide you an alternate option, so you never miss a payment. When you sign up with AutoPay, you have the ability to automatically transfer funds from your bank account, debit or credit card to pay your monthly bill.  To enroll for this convenient service, please click here.

I hope this information helps! I look forward to speak with you and help you resolve your concern.

Have a nice weekend!
