How do I remove devices from my plan ?

I'm getting a new phone on my current plan, and would like to take my old phone and tablet off the account so I won't be charged for them, since I won't be using them. Is this possible?

To remove any line you either need to port the line to another carrier or call to cancel. You definitely need to call to cancel the tablet. As for your phone, it will get replaced on your account by the upgrade, presuming you are keeping the same number.

I want to completely remove the line and number from our plan. She will be getting her own carrier at some point.

@jackskids2001

If she will be getting her own carrier, she can port the number to the new carrier and that will remove it from your account.

The number must be active to be ported to another provider or account.

Let us provided you with the needed information to remove a line from your plan @jackskids2001

Before cancelling a line please be advised:

  • If you have an installment plan, the remaining unpaid balance is due immediately when you cancel the linked line.
  • If you don't have an installment, you'll have to pay an early termination fee if you cancel before the end of your service commitment. (Find out how to estimate your ETF if it applies to you)

If you're interested in temporarily suspending the line you can go online at http://sm.att.com/ec37c26a then choose a reason and select Suspend. Also, learn more ways to suspend or temporarily block service for personal reasons.

Let us know how this works and if you want further assistance!
