Data overage

How come when you go over your data limit and you get 1g more for $15 automatically. But if you have some of that 1g left at end of cycle it doesn't rollover like if you have some left normally?

Re: Data overage

Because extra data is not part of rollover. It specifies "unused data from your monthly plan allowance rolls over for one billing period". https://www.att.com/shop/wireless/rollover-data.html

Re: Data overage

AT&T likes the free money they can make by stealing your available data towards the end of the cycle so you have to pay more for extra data that doesn't carry over even though you purchased it three days before the end of the cycle. It's interesting how the available data declines towards the end of the cycle even when the phone is in storage with the battery pulled. It's a secondary phone that doesn't get used all the time. It's really interesting how it can use 600 mb of data while not being used. Support can't explain it either, but it happens almost every month.
