Why do I get my bill on the 22nd of each month and it’s due the 27th?

Why do I get my bill on the 22nd of each month and it’s due the 27th? I mail it on the 23rd or 24th and At&t Recieved it the 29th and I got charged almost $7.00 for a late fee? Why do I only have 6 days to pay a bill and I am a day late and charged a fee?

Good afternoon @Mhpisme, allow us to lend a helping hand. Bills are usually mailed out 10-13 days before the due date. When you receive the statement will depend on your local mail delivery.

To avoid late fees, we recommend Viewing your bill online. Follow the link provided for more information. You could also sign up for Auto pay to make sure that your payment is taken out of your account on the same day each month. Thanks for reaching out to us.

@Mhpisme   If it’s due on the 27th, you bill closes around the 6th and bill is available online on the 10th.  Which means you can pay online, by text, or mail on the 10th.

Hello @Mhpisme

We do apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.

To better assure of a faster bill payment process with your account, you can visit your local AT&T store or speak with a customer support representative by phone to submit a payment in the future. This will help to avoid any late fees on your bill.

You can also visit our Billing & Payment Support  which will provide more information and options that would be more accommodating to your inquiry.

Have a wonderful weekend!

@Mhpisme I received an email on 8 Jan  with the amount due a due date of 24 Jan. Plenty of time to pay bill. Of course I have paperless billing and autopay to receive a discount on my bill. Prior to using autopay I would use online banking and have the bill paid on a date I selected. Used electronic funds transfer and bill was paid on time and did not have to use a postage stamp or drop off at the post office

Our bank was hacked becaUs we paid online and once on the phone to direct tv since then we pay old school, by mail.

There is no way that a bill takes 16 days to get to me but only 5 days to get back to At&t. Someone isn’t mailing the bills out once they are printed and I am not paying for their mistake. If the bill is going to continue to get to me 6 days from the due date then they next to push the due date back or give a grace period for any payments that are received within 10 days. Direct tv printed their bill to me on Jan 9, it’s due feb 1st, I received that bill Jan 22. At&t printed their bill Jan 6, I received it Jan 22 and it’s due Jan 27. I have never been late on a payment and I will not pay almost $7. For someone else’s mistake. There is no way that I can get a bill Dec 22 and maile it (remember Dec 25 is a holiday) and it get back to the right place by dec 27, instead it got there dec 29...that’s one full day of the payment not being there why should I have to pay for that one day? I did my part, I sent the payment the same week I Recieve the bill maybe the bill needs to be mailed the same week it’s printed.

The bill is mailed as soon as it is printed, or at least it is supposed to be. Can you prove it isn’t? Just FYI, sending checks is much less secure than paying electronically. Even if you continue to pay by check, there is no reason to wait for the paper bill. You can view your bill online and get your payment in the mail in plenty of time.

Your bill is still available online 4 days after your bill closes, and plenty of time for you to mail a check.
