$10 per month samsung tablet??

my brother owns an iphone 6 and his plan cost around 80 to 90 per month and its with some kind of a 10% employment discount. Then my mom bought a new iphone7 which i think has the same plan with the 6. that sums up around 180 per month with 10% already been taken off. The att staff told me id have to pay for an activation fee for the new phone so thats extra 50. But then att rep offered me this tablet. She told me the tablet was free but with an additional $10 monthly to the bill. And she told me id get 25% discount instead of 10%. I thought it was a good offer so i took it. For the first month, the bill was around 230 but the following month it reached to 280?? i Called that rep from att to complain about my bill and she said she doesnt know where that extra charges came from that i have to call customer service myself. So i called just to find out that theres no such offer. I cant do anything about it but pay the bill and now that i want to return the tablet id still have to pay for a feeking fee. Hi @Jliobb!

No one likes a surprise, especially an unexpected one! I definitely apologize that this has occurred with your account and I would love the opportunity to look into this for you! The last thing I would want you to feel is that you have been let down by us. AT&T strives to provide you with great service and that is what I promise to you!

To get a better understanding, I see that there are two phones on the account along with the free tablet you received all getting the 10% employee discount, is that correct? When the 25% discount was mentioned, is that for your employee discount? If so, it would require selecting the discount you would like to have applied on the account (either the 10% or the 25%).

Regarding the tablet on the account, the $10/monthly is for the access fee, basically to be linked to the monthly plan and be able to use the cellular data. If you’re wanting to return the tablet or cancel service on it, are you still within the 14 days buyer remorse period? If you cancel service within the first 14 days of activating, you won't be required to pay an ETF as long as you return the device in like-new condition. To find out if your device is eligible for return, visit AT&T Wireless Return Policy.

If it has passed the 14 days, you can select to estimate your Early Termination Fee through your myAT&T online account by logging in and following the steps below:

You need to be logged in to your myAT&T account to complete these steps.

  1. At the top of the page, go to myAT&T > Profile.
  2. Select the User Information tab.
  3. If your account has multiple devices, select the wireless device you want to manage.
  4. Under the Contract Information section, select Customer Service Summary.
  5. If you see a statement that you're not under contract, you don't have an ETF.
  6. If you see a contract end date, using the contract start and end dates, determine how many full months of service you have completed.
  7. Visit att.com/equipmentETF and locate the ETF information for your device.
  8. To estimate the ETF, start with the amount shown then subtract the dollar amount for each full month of service completed.

Hope this helps clear up some of the confusion on the billing statement. If you have ANY other questions or would like further assistance in looking into the charges, please reach back out to me through this post and I’d be more than happy to help you!

Take care and have a fantastic rest of your week! Thank you for reaching out.
