The 4 digit code you mentioned could be your passcode, which is a number you can use in place of your password to login on online account. If you already know you AT&T Access ID and password, you would only need to follow these steps:
Go to myAT&T and begin logging in with your ID and password.
On the Confirm Your Security Passcode page, select Forgot passcode?.
Follow the prompts to enter and submit your new security passcode information.
If instead you have prepaid service, the process is slightly different, and you can find the necessary instructions on this link. Just in case, I’m also providing you with a link to recover your account password.
