First, posting your email address in a public forum is a great way to get even MORE emails, not fewer.
Gmail doesn't recognize periods in email addresses, so July.August@gmail.com will go to JulyAugust@gmail.com. Gmail also offers a host of ways to filter mail so you would never see an email from AT&T if you didn't want to.
