How to get the PUK code – Instructions from AT&T
If you locked your SIM and do not remember the code, we have you covered.
How to unlock a SIM with a PIN Unlock Key (PUK)
- Go to your account overview within myAT&T and open the My Wireless section
- Scroll to My devices & add-ons and choose the device that needs a PUK code
- Select Manage my device.
- Under See device options, select Get your PIN unlock key (PUK).
Be Careful - PUK2 or PUK blocked call operator
If you enter a wrong code 10 times in a row, the SIM card permanently locks, and you will need to get a new SIM. Chat with us to and we can help!

The PUK code is a lock on the SIM card itself which prevents an AT&T SIM card from being put from one AT&T phone into a different AT&T phone or unlocked phone and function. The purpose is to protect your service from being stolen by someone who pops your sim card out and uses it in another phone.
It's your responsibility to get this fixed, not AT&T's.
If you are unable to access your PUK code online, call AT&T, or go to AT&T and get a new sim card.

These instructions are obsolete. There is no "Get your PIN unlock key (PUK)." under device options. I have been trying to unlock my phone since September 28, 2022 and to this day, I have a locked phone. I have talked to at least 12 different people and none of them can help me. AT&T has rendered my PAID phone useless and still continue to charge me.

Yes, you are correct however the instructions above do not take you to a place where you can retrieve your PUK code. It no longer exists. That's my point
