How did I pay for my new phone and why was the information sent to my old email address?

I upgraded my phone to iphone X.  I don't know how I paid for it as the pay option never displayed, bank account, debit card?  I thought I changed my email address, but it sent the order information to my old email address that no longer exists.  So now I have no order information.  I am unable to find a location on the att.com website where I can change my email address.  I was never asked about my email address or payment options.  The transaction just went through without any questions.  Will I receive my phone?  Or will somebody else get it?

Re: How did I pay for my new phone and why was the information sent to my old email address?

Greetings @rodgersericv,

When you upgrade, you are placed on installments which you pay a certain amount for the phone over 24 or 30 month period.  This will be on your bill once you log in.  To change your email address, please follow these instructions:

Update your email address

  1. Sign in to Customer Center.
  2. Select Your Account Settings.
  3. Select Email.
  4. Update your information and select Submit.

Thank you very much for reaching out to us on the Community Forums.

Re: How did I pay for my new phone and why was the information sent to my old email address?

I am still unable to change my email address because I am unable to log in to customer care.  The login is my mobile phone number, correct?  But the password I enter does not work.  Apparently it is a different password from the one I use to log in to myATT at att.com.  I am able to log in there.   I can't use the forget password option because I need to use my email address which no longer exists.  It's a CATCH 22.  I need my email to change my password, and I need my password to change my email.  This all stems from the fact that Centurylink deleted my email account or denied me access, without my permission, probably illegally.  I have been unable to log in there for about a year now since my password won't work even after I attempt to change it, answering all of the security questions correctly.  Is there a way to change my email address from att.com where I can successfully log in?

@rodgersericv,

If you can log into your myAT&T account, then you should be able to see your recent upgrade and the details pertaining to it. Also, you can change the email by verification code or temporary PIN to verify billing contact changes.  For further assistance with the old email, please contact our Digital Assistance Center at this link here.

I was able to change my email address by going into billing options and changing that email address.  I assume they are adding the charges for my new phone on my existing bill.  I don't know how to mark the reply as accepted solution as there is no such option.
