Free iphone offer and new line phone number?

Currently there is a buy one get one free iphone 7 offer, however to qualify one line must be a new activtiation. If I activate a new line and cancel one of my current lines (not under contract) can I get the cancelled phone number switched to the newly activated line?

nope it has to be a new number or a port in.

I have add new line to my att account and have 2 years contract with DIRECTV from U-verse , for have offer free iPhone 7 ( I take 7plus ) , Monthly charge me $36 for phone ???? Usually around just $27 for iPhone 7 plus . But after 3 months I don't have credit back ,
