Deposit Refund Check

I received a check in the mail from AT&T that says it’s a refund for my deposit. When I tried to cash the check I was told this was a bad check. Is it a real check? How can I tell?

If it is a legit deposit refund check, you should remember paying a deposit 12 months ago. You can also call customer service as they can check notes on your account to see if one was needed or mailed out.

Thank you I went through my email and found where I was told I would be
sent a deposit refund. What made me question it was when I went to cash the
check I was told that it was a bad check. It has all been cleared up. Thank
