Call from AT&T fraud dept??
I received a cal on my phone asking for my wife (account in her name) saying I should call about a cell phone order placed on our account. He said he was with thenfraud dept. My wife called 611 and was told there was no order??
Would AT&T fraud dept actually call or would we get a letter/email?

I don't know if they would call or not but that is the number ATT has on their fraud webpage for wireless customers to call to report identity theft: http://www.att.com/att/fraud/index.htm

If they tell you to call a number and you check the number to make sure, you should call the number, not the 611. that number is for the fraud department. They may have stopped the order and that is why customer service cannot see it. Call the fraud department directly.
