Buyback program STINKS

I was enticed over to ATT from Sprint in August with promises of 650 per line and great customer service. NEITHER has happened as of Nov 27th. I cant get a straight answer from anyone about what ATT owes Sprint and EVERYONE gives me a different answer when i call.  I was told to take my phones to the store and they refused them!  WHAT the HECK!  Where is the dough?

Well I can help with part of your question, ATT owes nothing to Sprint. ATT does not pay Sprint, that is your responsibility. ATT reimburses you for termination fees or device payoffs up to $650 per line provided you have met all of the conditions of the promotion. One of those conditions is you trade in your Sprint phones and buy new ones from ATT on Next plans. If you never did that, sorry but you aren’t getting anything and if you switched in August, it is probably too late.

Of course it is my responsibility to pay Sprint. ATT enticed me over here
with the promise to pay ME 650 per line and as of now, I have received
nothing. Even though i have cancelled Sprint, bought ATT phones, paid 4
months of service and submitted the forms twice online as instructed

IN FACT, as I type this I am on HOLD again!, with ATT about this program
and am getting different direction from another ATT employee.

Would it be possible to get an ATT employee who can direct me on the
complete and right thing to do? I seem to get different answers when i
call in.

1. Did you trade in your Sprint phones? If so, how (e.g. in the store, mail, etc.)

2. How much did you owe on the phones?

3. Do the "forms" you've submitted twice include the final bill from Sprint?

4. Did you purchase your AT&T phones on a Next plan?

I have been informed by ATT that my buyback is completed and on its way for
WAY less than promised. A concerned supervisor took over my case. For
this, I am pleased and happier with ATT. However, the REAL deal is now
exposed to new clients.

ATT subtracts the trade-in value of the phones from the reimbursement
credit instead of adding it. This means it is going to cost me $645.00 to
leave Sprint and come to ATT, how is that a good deal for my family? NOT
WHAT WAS PROMISED at the retail store. It appears I have been lied to and
cheated out of my money to entice me to move over. Unhappy clients talk
WAY more about their vendors than happy clients. I will be that person for
ATT as a client.

Would rather just go back to Sprint to avoid paying, but now I owe them a
TON of money thanks to this process.

AT&T doesn't add or subtract the trade-in value. The trade-in credit is part of the money received to pay off what you owe the other company. If you owe Sprint $400 and get a $200 trade-in credit, then you are still owed $200. You get the full $400 you owe.

I am sorry, but that is not true OR not what I was just told by ATT. As an
illustrated example? I have 5 lines brought over. Let's review one line.

ATT employee JUST told me I will be getting $11.00 trade-in for my
daughters LG Tribute from the "trade-in" department and a $100.00
"reimbursement" for switching. It will be subtracted from the $100.00 for
a next result to me of $89.00. My Sprint bill shows a $100.00 cancellation
charge. So I will have to pay Sprint 100.00 and only receive $89.00 value?
How is that a good deal for me? AND their are 5 phones on this line.

As i have been reading these postings, I wonder if ATT is listening? There
is a reason why you're bleeding subscribers, this is one.

Fact? - I am unhappy with my ATT conversation and wish it would have never
happened. Unless they put me right, which is giving me value equal to the
conversion costs, i will not be whole. At this point, the difference is
$645.00, which i will have to pay Sprint. What a great deal ATT! Welcome
customer, we are liars!

You get $11 for the trade in and $89 to make up the rest of the $100 ETF. Why do you think you only get $89 "value?"
