Adding a new line to exising family plan; contract extension, new phone?

Hi, I had a question regarding adding a new line to an existing family plan.  I currently have two lines on my family plan and am thinking about adding a third.  When I add the new line, how does the contracting work?  Do I have to sign a new contract or is the original contract extended?  Do I qualify for savings on the new phone (as you would if you signed a normal fresh 2 year contract)?

Thank you for the help!

Each line of service has their own contract.

So if you add a third line it will have its own 2-year contract from the time its added.  The contract on the other lines would remain the same with no change.

Yes you would get the discount on the phone since that line would have a 2-year contract attached to it.
