iPhone BOGO - What counts as "qual. svc." with this offer?

In the details on the iPhone 6s BOGO offer, there is a requirement, "When you buy both on AT&T Next® with qual. svc. (min $70/mo.)."

Does this mean that I will need to add at least 15GB ($100/month) instead of the 5GB plan that I was expecting ($50/month), or are the device line fees included in the qualified service amount as well (so $50 + $25/phone + $25/phone would exceed the $70 minimum)?

Hello @jkhA3224!

I’ll be happy to help with your questions about the BOGO offer!

I want to thank you for pointing out the wording on the BOGO site:  When you buy both on AT&T Next® with qual. svc. (min $70/mo.).

The fees you mentioned are included in the monthly service plan. These charges include data and Smartphone access charges. You’ll need to be on a $70.00 or more plan to qualify.

At this time, you can choose the $100.00 per month Mobile Share Value Plan to meet the $70.00 minimum monthly requirement for the BOGO offer. It’s $50.00 for 5GB of shared data with the Smartphone access charge at $25.00 each.

I hope this helps clarify the BOGO offer and please let me know if you have questions.

Thank you and have a great day!

@ATTCares

Tim, the minimum plan to qualify for the BOGO would be $20 data plan and 2 lines at $25 each, a total of $70.

The 15 gig plan is $100, with 2 lines is $130.

If you note the current BOGO, has left out the wording of the minimum required plan in the offer details.

@jkhA3224.  Please visit an ATT corporate store for the correct information on the plan and read all  the BOGO requirements carefully.

@lizdance40 Here's where they mention the $70 (or does the fine print take precedence?).

So would they need larger data plan or would the $50 + $25 + $25 be enough?

@Gary L

They do NOT need the 15 gig plan if they only want 5 gigs.

Yes, the $70 minimum shows in the "big print". I'm no attorney, but the details, aka fine print, needs to be comprehensive.  If ATT is going to hold customers to a signed document, they need to have all "I"s dotted and "T"s crossed.

How often have you and I discussed training problems?

I'm going to hope it was late and he was tired.

@lizdance40 I understand they only need 5GB, but their question is basically

"does $70 mean: a plan that's $70 or the plan plus the lines being greater than $70"?

Let's forget the fine print for a second, is "service" just the plan or the plan plus the lines.

I also think it's really weird that AT&T chose $70 as the cutoff, since they don't have any published plans for that amount.

They only need the minimum Mobile share plan

$20, 300 mb data plan, 2 lines at $25 each, total $70.

Line fee and data plan is service.  Installments are equipment.
