Going solo
I am currently on a plan with my mother but I want to go on a separate plan but I'm paying on my phone can I cancel my line and get one on my own?

In order to keep your number, you and your mom have to fill out a transfer of billing responsibility form.
If you are changing carriers, you just port your number out to a new carrier, which automatically cancels your line with AT&T.
