You don't need a new SIM card. What you need is to get off the plan you share with your ex. If you are the account owner, she needs to get her own account and plan. If she is the account owner, you need to move your line to your own account and plan. Either way, that is done by doing a Transfer of Billing Responsibility on her or your line.
