AT&T fraud
Why is AT&T allowed to sell plans to customers KNOWING there is no coverage in that area. Then refuse to refund.

Make that 157 people JoeFrigge. I plan on contacting my attorney as well. They should not be able to get away with this.

@lynn64477, still not fraud. Coverage is not guaranteed everywhere and the maps are an estimate of coverage. There was no fraud committed. I'm sure when you signed up for service, if in the store you signed on the iPad, which indicated you were agreeing to the WCA, which you probably didn't ask to read first. If online, you probably clicked the box saying you agreed without reading it. I'll admit I've never read it all the way through, but I also know that I'm bound by that since I agreed to it.
It sucks that you have cancer and I wish you the best of luck with your treatment, but that's no excuse to be rude to anyone.
You said you've been working on it for more than a month, a month is greater than 14 days, so you're outside of your 14 day return period. It's not a "refund" period. You still pay for the service you used, you're just not forced to keep the phone or continue service.
If you were unwilling or unable to return the phone within 14 days to the original point of purchase, that is on you, not AT&T.
This is a customer forum. We're customers, not AT&T. We do have our own lives and real jobs and just do this in our spare time. If you'd like to post politely to us about what's going on, we might even be able to point you in the right direction to get some resolution, but posting in all caps and insulting people isn't going to get you any help here.

When you have 14 days to return and cancel, and you don't, why are you blaming ATT?

Read around the forums:
The people who come to the forums and ask questions beforehand are happier (obivously) than the people who only come here when they have a complain.
@lynn64477It seems like you are spending a lot of energy on this.
And you understand that the titles (like "guru") are not titles that we pick?

Hello Community,
Although this wasn't the main purpose for this thread, we did want to update one piece of information. Please note that as of July 22nd, 2016, our return policy has changed regarding the restocking fee.
You can find all the information here.
Thanks
Tim, AT&T Community Specialist

@Gary L. That's fine. It's meant to discourage people from impulse buys thinking they can get all money back, or returning a phone because they wanted 'rose gold' instead.
I think that the highest restock fee of any carrier, I haven't checked Verizon yet.

Well this is another delemma that is not addressed fairly by AT&T. I, too, have a similar problem. Being an AT&T customer since 1980's have always purchased and upgraded my phones through them. I bought a cottage in Charlotte County FL for winter months. Upgraded my phone there and when I went to use it at my new home., no service. When I went just up the road 1/8th of a mile -great service. Called back, tech checked my service area and said tower is only 1 and a quarter mile from my house. Should not be a problem. It was and still is. After many calls to tech assuming it was the problem with the phone itself, I was finally told there is no service in my section of town. I Never use my phone during the winter months I spend in FL. Still pay the bill tho. Locked into agreement.
Well my comment to you experts is: it took more than 14 days to even be told there was no service where I'm at! So I was out of luck.
My next comment to the experts is: WHY do we seem to need a lawyer to review all the fine print in AT&T 's contracts every time we purchase a phone from them? I have bought and sold homes with much less loop holes.
