contacts backup

contacts backup

Im new to AT&T wireless for about 3 weeks now. And so far no complaints. But just have a quick question. I just switched from verizon. They have a feature that you can back up all your contacts to a server or a cloud. That way if you need to replace or buy a new phone you can just uplaod your backed up contacts to your new device. Dose AT&T have a similar feature?

Re: contacts backup

Your post says it was from a Samsung GS4 Active.

On Android phones, the default is for your contacts to already be backed up on the cloud, on your Google account.  To check, simply login to Gmail on a computer, and see if your contacts show up there.

This is one of the beauties of Android.  If you get a new phone, or have to do a factory reset of your current phone, when you login to your Google account, your contacts will just automagically sync to the phone from the cloud.

When making new contacts, just be sure to save them as Google contacts.  If you have contacts from another source (such as your SIM) then simply go into Contacts and import them as Google contacts.
