We've got a fresh look! Take the tour to see what's new.
AT&T Recently unlocked my iPhone and now I have my sim card from a different carrier in the phone but it wont pick up any signal. I know I get signal in my area and my current location but the iPhone won't pick it up. It just stays on "Searching..." Any help would be great. Thanks.
Not every phone will work with every carrier. Talk to your new carrier to see if your phone is compatible with their technology.
Here is Apple's information page on the LTE bands supported by their different models:
Make sure the carrier you are trying to connect to is supported by the iPhone you have!
Unlocked by at&t but still says invalid sim! What is the role here to at&t?
What exact model of iPhone is it? If it is an iPhone 5/5c/5s, then it requires a specific type of nano SIM and will not work with an incorrect type.
You also mention something about an unlock. Did you see the "you phone has been unlocked" message when you restored your iPhone in iTunes? If not, it's possible that the request from AT&T to Apple has "hung" somewhere in the process. This happens from time to time (more often that many would think acceptable but that's a different story). If that has happened, you can try calling AT&T customer service to see if htey can help you tract this down and get it resolved.
It is iPhone4.recieved reply mail that is "in process".any one say how much days for really to unlock it? I reached 8business days.still says invalid sim& sim from a different carrier!
Once you get an email telling you that your iPhone is unlocked, you MUST backup your iPhone via iTunes and then restore it! It is during the activation process that your iPHone is unlocked. Just putting in a SIM does not do anything.
Have you ever been or are you currently an ATT customer? If not, your request has probably been denied? If you are eligible for the unlock, it could take a few days for ATT to process then time for Apple to update their activation servers.
